All Objectives in Elephant
How to Get an S Rank in Elephant
The video showcased above shows a full walkthrough of an S Rank run through the Elephant mission!
There are only 3 Objectives in Elephant, and there are no Soft Objectives to worry about. Here’s what players are looking to complete:
Arrest all 4 suspects
Secure all 13 civilians
Defuse the Bomb Threats
Defuse 2 bombs
With only 3 objectives to focus on, Elephant might seem like a breeze. However, players will need to be aware of the urgency that this mission holds, as they are on a timer. Not only is there a time limit to complete the mission due to the fact that the bombs will detonate after 18 minutes, but the 4 suspects found inside the community college will not hold onto their hostages for long, meaning that they will begin to execute them after around 2 minutes of gameplay, or when the first shot has been fired. Elephant can be a frustrating mission, so there are detailed steps on each objective below, along with advice on how to stop the suspects from killing civilians. Don’t be embarrassed to restart the mission a few times to get it right, and remember to bring Beanbag Shotguns to get the S Rank through non-lethal takedowns, and bring Light Armor so that you’re able to move faster to cover the entire campus without delay. Time is of the essence in this mission, so move fast by clearing rooms, getting suspects down, and ignoring hostages until the entire building is safe from threat.
How to Bring Order to Chaos in Elephant
Bring Order to Chaos is the most essential objective in the Elephant mission, far more important than the bombs. There are 4 suspects in Elephant, and after around 2 to 4 minutes, they will begin to execute hostages, which will fail the Rescue Civilians objective. Thebest advice one can givein regards to the Elephant mission is to ignore the hostages completely and sweep the entire building for hostiles. If players are on solo mode, they will need to make sure theAI officersare held at spawn and do not go into the building. The more stress that the suspects face, the more likely they are to execute hostages. This means that players should avoid spamming commands, and they should try not to fire too many bullets.
The best strategy to stop the suspects from killing civilians in Elephant is to wear Light Armor and bring a Beanbag Shotgun. Enter rooms as quickly as possible and ignore all civilians, as you are just looking to take down the 4 suspects. Do not bag any evidence. Instead, arrest the suspect and move on until all 4 have been detained and the Bring Order to Chaos objective completes. This might take a few attempts due to the unpredictable nature of the AI’s behavior and spawning, but the best method we found was to start from the bottom floor, and if we found a hostage, we would quickly head upstairs to see if a suspect was in the vicinity to hear the gunshot and the command. Again, this mission might take a few attempts as the suspects could execute a hostage whenever they feel like it, but there’s usually a generous (enough) 2-minute window. Just don’t be overly aggressive by spamming commands or wasting bullets, and things should go smoothly.
How to Find and Defuse All Bombs in Elephant
All Bomb Locations in Elephant - Ready or Not
The second most important objective in Elephant is to defuse the bomb threats. Bombs take around 18–20 seconds to defuse, so they shouldn’t be a priority until the suspects have been detained, as it’s a waste of time. The bombs will detonate after 18 minutes, so players have plenty of time to locate them all. The Elephant mission only has 2 bombs to worry about, and they are easy to hear so long as players have their audio raised, as they will periodically beep. The bomb itself is noted for having a metallic casing with a package next to it, so it can blend into some props. Above is a map of the two floors that players can check for all bomb locations, but there’s a description of each location found below:
How to Rescue All the Civilians in Elephant
There are an intimidating number of civilians in Elephant, and players can expect to secure 13 of them. Since this objective is the least important, players should only worry about civilians once they have detained the 4 criminals. As such, sweep rooms and ignore civilians by not even telling them to get on their knees. When all suspects have been detained, do another sweep of the entire building. Civilians will not exit the campus, so they will be hiding in the many different classrooms and corridors. If players are in single player, then feel free to call in the AI squadmates, as once the threat of the suspects has been eliminated, they can really help to clear the ground by sweeping rooms themselves and detaining any civilians that are in the area, and they will evenbag evidence that you missed.
