The next Everdark Sovereign to arrive inElden Ring Nightreignwill be Augur, a boss that many players have dubbed the easiest Nightlord in the co-op roguelike action RPG. These incredibly difficult bosses were added in the 1.01.3 update forElden Ring Nightreign, giving players hungry for a bigger challenge the chance to take on powered-up versions of the title’s bosses.

Last week, it was confirmed that the next majorupdate forElden Ring Nightreignwould be released on July 30, bringing with it the highly anticipated Duo Expeditions mode, quality-of-life UI improvements, and more. The 2-player mode has been on many players' wishlists since the game was released in May, and its inclusion may potentially cause an uptick in returning players to the FromSoftware romp. For those less concerned about their teammates and more concerned about upcoming challenges inElden Ring Nightreign, a powerful enemy will be taking the stage when the new update hits, and it’s one that many players have been hoping to see buffed for some time.

A new Twitter post on the officialElden Ring Nightreignaccount has confirmed that Maris, Fathom of Night will be the next Everdark Sovereign added to the game. Known by most players as Augur, the jellyfish Nightlord is often dubbed the easiest fight in the game, but the enemy will see a significant difficulty boost this time around. While it’s unknown how Augur will be altered for the fight, most players find victory by attacking at a distance, so FromSoftware may make it tougher to do so. In the weeks to come, Tricephalos, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog will alsoreturn toElden Ring Nightreignas enhanced Everdark Sovereigns.

Since its release in late May,Elden Ring Nightreign’s player count has droppeda staggering 82%, prompting many to wonder how the title will remain relevant going forward. While the title’s connections to 2022’s Game of the Year and its low price tag of $39.99 likely led to increased success at launch, its focus on multiplayer and roguelike elements may not appeal to as many players. Many fans remain hopeful that future updates will lead to a player count boost.

FromSoftware has plenty of games in the pipeline, withThe Duskbloodsslated to be released as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive in 2026 and a mystery title currently in development for multiple platforms. The latter has many fans of the studio talking, with some speculating that it could be a remake or remaster of aDark Soulsgame or something to do with theArmored Coreseries.
