FromSoftware has announced the next Everdark Sovereign Nightlord boss inElden Ring Nightreign, and it’s a powerful foe not to be faced lightly.Elden Ring’s base game was released back in 2022, introducing soulslike fans to the Lands Between and pitting them against some of the most punishing bosses in video game history. The torment continued during the title’s massiveShadow of the Erdtreeexpansion in 2024, andElden Ring Nightreignis continuing the IP’s notorious difficulty.
Nightreignwas released back in May 2025, serving as a co-op spin-off to the base game, and instead of players exploring the region of Limgrave,Nightreignoffers a procedurally generated version of the map titled Limveld.Elden Ring Nightreignreceived a major player count spikerecently, thanks to the addition of Gaping Jaw, the first Everdark Sovereign boss, and now, the next adversary of this ilk has been revealed by the developer.
Announced viaElden Ring’s official Twitter account, the developer confirmed the next Everdark Sovereign boss would be an overpowered version of the Darkdrift Knight, Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow. It was also confirmed that the centaur enemy would arrive in Limveld on Jun 02, 2025, at 4 PM CEST / 7 AM PDT / 11 PM JST. Nightfarers were encouraged to gather their forces, noting, “Only thunderous radiance shall still the sacred echoes of the Night.” TheDarkdrift Knight is a difficult boss to beat inElden Ring Nightreign, and despite the hard graft needed to defeat the centaur, fans are brimming with excitement to face its Everdark Sovereign version.
Elden Ring Nightreign’s Next Everdark Sovereign Boss Is the Darkdrift Knight
Even thoughElden Ring Nightreign’s Everdark Sovereigns aren’t for everyone, several soulslike fans were positively ecstatic to welcome the centaur into gameplay. Some players recalled that they had a “blast” facing the previous Everdark Sovereign, Gaping Jaw, and one fan admitted they needed practice against the centaur’s base version, especially to nail the timing of its charging attacks. Others had more of a defeatist attitude to the boss’ addition, expressing that players were “cooked.”
Elden Ring Nighteign’s Everdark Sovereigns require some explanationto understand fully, but these events essentially present more difficult-to-beat versions of the game’s eight Nightlords, designed to challenge expert players' wit. Nightfarers must beat the regular version of the Nightlord first to unlock the Everdark Sovereign challenge during their allocated time on offer. Upon completion, and not for the faint-hearted, players will be rewarded with Sovereign Sigils, which are one of the currencies available inNightreign.
