EA has big plans forBattlefield 6, with CEO Andrew Wilson claiming the company is “all in” on making it a landmark entry for the series. While there’s still a lot that fans don’t know about the game, EA has made it clear that it’s adjusting its approach, as evidenced by the consolidation of four studios into one and the advent ofBattlefield Labs.Apparently, that’s just the tip of the iceberg forBattlefield 6and the future of the series.
It has been a busy week for EA and theBattlefieldteam. On July 24, the game finally received its first reveal trailer, and WilsonconfirmedBattlefield 6won’t cost $80in a Q&A following EA’s latest quarterly earnings report. Later in that same presentation, Wilson offered a glimpse into the company’s larger vision for the game.
During the Q&A over EA’s Q1 fiscal year 2026 results, Wilson said the company has invested “more behind thisBattlefieldthan anyBattlefieldproduct before it.” While he didn’t offer specifics on what that investment looks like, he emphasized how EA has put a lot into buildingBattlefield 6into a “platform” instead of just a single, standalone product. The talk about a “platform” may not come as a surprise, as EAconfirmedBattlefield 6would be a live-service titleback in 2024, but Wilson’s language suggests the company’s ambitions for the game go far beyond what fans saw in the live-serviceBattlefield 2042.
EA Says It’s Investing More in Battlefield 6 Than Any Other Battlefield Game
As part of that investment, EA is ramping up its marketing for the newBattlefield. Wilson said the company is bringing in “hundreds of creators” to get their hands on the game and stream it to their fans during thebigBattlefield 6multiplayer reveal eventon July 31. That presentation should also offer more details on just what EA means about the title being a platform and reaching new heights for the series.
Many of the specifics remain murky, but Wilson emphasized how the game’s development process throughBattlefield Labsshould align it more with what players want. The company is confident it can succeed in that area, too. According to reports, EA hopesto hit 100 millionBattlefield 6playersafter its launch. Whether it will be able to gather such a massive player base will only become clear with time, but EA seems to have put a lot into making that happen.
