Funcom has shared 1.1.10.0 patch notes forDune: Awakening’s upcoming update, bringing a host of changes to much-requested endgame elements as well as various quality-of-life improvements for a smoother experience. Since its release on June 5,Dune: Awakeninghas been updated with multiple patches and hotfixes to address bugs and performance issues, but 1.1.10.0 promises to be the game’s biggest update yet.
Dune: Awakening’s endgame PvP-first approach has raised some concernsamong solo players hoping for a more PvE-friendly environment. Many have found obtaining late-game resources from the Deep Desert to be incredibly difficult without the help of a guild. Patch 1.1.10.0 arrives just in time to put these concerns to rest.
In a recent blog post on theDune: Awakeningwebsite, Funcom released the patch notes for 1.1.10.0, a planned update that is currently only available to players on the Public Test Client, downloadable on Steam. Patch1.1.10.0 is the game’s first major patch, with sweepingchanges toDune: Awakening’s endgame PvE content, quality-of-life improvements, and balance changes across the board. In order to test the stability of the patch, the developers are initially releasing it as an opt-in update, available exclusively to PC players on Steam. All progress in the PTC (Public Test Client) will carry over to the main game once the patch goes live. Though there is no confirmed release date yet, Funcom estimates that patch 1.1.10.0 will be released to all players in “a week or two.”
The biggest gameplay changes in Version 1.1.10.0 arecentered aroundDune: Awakening’s Deep Desert. The PvE zone in the Deep Desert will now cover a much larger strip of land, roughly half of the entire map, quadrupling the size of the PvE zone from previous iterations. Additionally, all endgame resources will be available within this PvE-only area, meaning solo sleepers will be able to find and harvest everything they need without ever having to step foot into the PvP zone. To balance this, the PvP areas will have a higher concentration of materials and valuable resources the further north players go, giving large guilds a clear reason to head deeper into the desert.
Patch 1.1.10.0 also introduces a range of quality-of-life improvements aimed at enhancing the existing gameplay loop. Anti-gravity fields have been nerfed, giving players a better chance to escape when caught unprepared. Ornithopters will now drop straight down if exited mid-air, preventing scenarios where players accidentally leave the cockpit while the vehicle is still flying. Some abilities, like Suspensor Dash and Thrive on Danger, have been reworked, while others have received updated descriptions in order to help players better understand their functions. Additionally, Sandworm behavior has been adjusted to increase the risk whenharvesting Spice inDune: Awakening, with the creature now lingering longer beneath the surface in certain situations.
