Powering Upa base inDune: Awakeningis more than just dumping a generator and praying it does the trick. It requires fine-tuning so that players can drain the maximum Power Efficiency of every type of generator, and craft everything they need to thrive in Arrakis.

Controlling the Power Grid in the players' base will allow them to have more crafting stations working properly and for longer, and also jump between tiers much faster and without softlocking themselves due to energy outages. This guide will teach players how to attain Energy Efficiency in their bases without too many complications.

How To Control Power Efficiency In Dune: Awakening

To control Power Efficiency and measure how much energy the base consumes, interact with the Sub-Fief Console (or Advanced Sub-Fief Console), then go toGeneral Settingstab. In this part of the menu, players will see a small window to the left that says: Power. Below, two tabs indicateEnabled, or Disabled. Players should know that disabling the Power means relinquishing the protection against sandstorms and home invaders, so they should leave it on at all times.

To correctly power the base, the right indicator in Circuit Power should always begreater than the consumed poweron the left indicator. At the same time, the excess energy from generators should be shut down to maintain Energy Efficiency. In any case, in theAdvanced Sub-Fieff Console tab, players can consult the current status of the base shields.During storms, thebase shields will consume more Energy, so keep that in mind toprevent power outages.

Every fabricator, refinery, or appliance in the base can beShut Down tosave energy. Turning Off Stations before logging out might be a good way tomaintain Energy Efficiency.

How To Power Up A Base In Dune Awakening

InDune: Awakening, basescan be powered in three different ways: Through Internal Generators, and External Generators. External Generators use Wind to constantly generate energy, at the cost of Lubricant, which will be constantly consumed, maintaining the generators online for X time, depending on the amount deposited on them.

Internal generators can be Fuel-powered or Spice-powered. The first type is the easiest to maintain and build, since it only requires Scrap Metal to be built and is maintained using Fuel Cells, which can be easily obtained everywhere. That doesn’t mean players should line up dozens of these generators, since their power output is limited, and they consume tons of base space. The more generators of this type aligned on a base, the more energy output it will have, but the Energy Efficiency will suffer greatly.

Every type of generator supplements each other, and depending on the stage of the game, and the requirements of the base/guild that manages it, players will have to build bigger and better generators the more they advance in Tiers.

Generators Or Wind Turbines: What Is Best?

Though Wind Turbines and Omni-Directional Turbines are quite good, since they generate hours of energy per Lubricant deposited in their storage, a fully charged Fuel-Powered Generator can hold on with a 75 V capacity for 20 days straight. A Wind Turbine requires approximately 540 Low-Grade Lubricant to generate energy for 20 days, but it does so at a higher capacity (150 V), while the Wind Turbine Directional grants 250 Power during 20 days, using 300 Industrial-Grade Lubricant.

Finally, Spice Generators require the expensive Spice Melange to work, but they can be up for days and days using only a few Spice Melange units, and they offer the highest energy output: 1000 V per generator. Though these are fairly more expensive, they can hold out for longer, and offer extremely high Power Efficiency.
