Regaining Control is the second quest players need to complete to unlock Advanced Trooper skills inDune: Awakening. Here, players are tasked with finding a man named Tuco for Kara, but as per the usual song and dance in Arrakis, things don’t exactly go as planned.
This is part of a relatively long questline similar to the onefor the Planetologistand other classes inDune: Awakening. In this guide, we’ll be showing you how to complete the two most confusing parts of this quest so you can start upgrading your favorite Trooper skills as soon as possible.
Before you set out for this quest, make sure to have a Resource Scanneron your Sandbikeor in your inventory.
Meeting Hannivar
The first part of this quest willsend you to Hannivar’s, a lounge in Harko Village. Its owner/bartender should have some information about Tuco, but she won’t tell you anything until you find thedead drop ledger in the adjacent room. Ignore Hannivar’s warnings about hostile smugglers and just read the ledger, then speak with her again after.
Scan for Clues in Regaining Control Quest
Next, you’ll need to go toJabal Eifrit Al-janub to find Tuco’s stash. Follow the marker on your map, and you’ll soon arrive at an abandoned camp on a little island-alcove surrounded by quicksand. This is where the scanner comes in —use your scanner at the small box with the flashing light, then interact with it. Once you pick up the clue from the box, your next stop will be a mining facility deep within Hagga Rift.
Finding Tuco’s Body
For this part of the step, you need to find Tuco insideCHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #6. This facility is marked on your map — it’s at the very bottom of the chasm, so if you may, bring an Ornithopterto make entering and leaving the area easier. Otherwise, you’ll have to make your way back to the surface on-foot or through the mining tunnels.
Enter the facility entrance, then get up the ledge that leads to an irradiated area.Radiation inDune: Awakeningwill kill you instantly if you let it build up completely, but thankfully, you won’t need to stay here long. Follow the quest marker on your compass until you reach a parked Sandbike next to a body that’s strung up near the cave wall. Interact with it, then go back to Arrakeen and tell Kara what you found. This marks the end of Regaining Control.
Finishing this quest will let youupgrade your Trooper skills. After you speak with Kara, you may have to speak with her again and ask for training directly. After that, you can start the next part of the quest chain.
