Towards the end ofDragon Ball Super’sSuper Hero film, Gohan managed to do the unthinkable and unlocked a brand-new transformation that was not only stronger than any that he had ever used before, but was powerful enough to propel him to the level of Goku and Vegeta. On top of this, when it was covered in the manga format in Chapter 103, Beast Gohan was able to fight equally against Ultra Instinct Goku.
This has prompted a lot of discussion within the fandom about what awaits Gohan once the series inevitably returns. Gohan Beast is representative of the new trend regarding transformations in the franchise, which is that the main characters have all reached a relative level of power but in their own way. This is something that fans have unanimously loved overthe shared Super Saiyan transformations, since these new forms work on the individual strengths of characters and reflect their personality and fighting styles way more, as can be seen with Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta most of all.
Keeping this in mind, Beast Gohan’s strength comes from its user’s seemingly unlimited potential. Logically, going off of this, it’s theoretically possible for him to achieve an even stronger state since the series describes the potential of Saiyans as being bottomless, and those of half-Saiyans being even greater than that. Of course, Beast Gohan is different from Goku and Vegeta’s ultimate forms, working more like an evolution of the traditional Super Saiyan line rather than being a form to house a Divine Technique.

Of course, these aren’t as combat-oriented or nearly as powerful as the others, but it does offer some food for thought.
Because of this, many believe that if Gohan were to gain power greater than that of Beast, it could possibly be a third, previously unheard-of Divine Technique that the Kais use, since that would be infinitely more captivating than ‘Gohan Beast 2’. Of course, this is all speculation, but it would add a nice touch to the way transformations seem to be working in the series currently.
Why There Shouldn’t Be A New Transformation For Gohan

One can’t talk about theDragon Ballfranchise without mentioning transformations, since it is perhaps the series that places the most emphasis on them throughout the entire anime/manga industry. However, the way things are going now with Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Piccolo being on the same level with their most powerful forms,there shouldn’t be any new transformationsfor them once the series continues.
This is especially true for Gohan, since Beast showed the awesome power that his latent potential holds, which is so great that it can bridge the gap between him and Ultra Instinct Goku with a fraction of the effort. The story is clearly being told in a way that these five heroes are the main protectors of Universe 7, likely forcing them to work together way more than they ever have before. This adds an amazing dynamic since they have now formed a team where each character has unique strengths that they bring to the table.
This means a lot to the way that the story is told as well, since it could show a different way for the heroes to defeat a villain rather than just getting angrier than before and unlocking a new form that has longer and spikier hair.Beast Gohan fills a very important nichewithin the Z-Fighters, which is that of a tactical warrior who packs a massive punch due to his insane potential and strength.
If this were to be cast aside in favor of familiar tropes and story beats, it’s clear that the unique story that Chapter 103 seemed to be promising in terms of power scaling would have been abandoned for something far safer and boring. This would be to the massive detriment of the series, so Beast Gohan and the rest of the heroes' ultimate forms should all be the mainstays for the return ofSuperas the greatest powers in the entire multiverse.
