Lollipop ChainsawcreatorSuda51 recently criticized the gaming industry, specifically its reliance on Metacritic scores. According to the prolific creator, studios that pay too much attention to reviews tend to follow a particular formula to achieve success, making it more difficult for more unique games to succeed. Rather than chase these scores, Suda is content to create games that he can take pride in and that people want to play.
In April, anewLollipop Chainsaw RePOPupdateadded the highly requested Nightmare Mode, offering players a more challenging experience. A previous patch also added a photo mode, along with even more outfits for the main character, Juliet Starling, who is tasked with fighting zombies in a fictional and highly stylized California high school.
