Diablo 4is full of side stories for players to experience, and one such story includes that of a barbarian tribe in the Dry Steppes that has been experiencing some missing people issues. The side story in question is Raising Spears, the second part of the Crane Tribe’s questline that gives players a glimpse of what goes on in Sanctuary when they’re not desperately trying to save it.
This quest is fairly simple, though much like the precedingConsumed by Pride quest inDiablo 4, it can be a bit confusing if you aren’t paying attention. Here’s what you need to do to complete this quest.
Raising Spears Quest Guide in Diablo 4
As of Jul 26, 2025, a bug has been causing the eponymous spears in the Raising Spears quest to not appear for some players. Resetting dungeons, changing difficulties, and restarting the game does not seem to make things any better. Players who are experiencing this are advised to wait for a hotfix.
Raising Spears becomes available right after Consumed by Pride. Speak with Chief Ealda after she throws one of the traitor tribesmen into the abyss, then proceed tothe Champion’s Demise dungeon near Jirandai. There, the two of you will be retrieving eight Blood-Etched Spears for her and her tribe.

It’s worth noting that Champion’s Demise is one of thebest places to farm XP inDiablo 4, even after the changes it received throughout the game’s seasons. While you’re here, consider eradicating all the monsters in the dungeon for some quick XP.
While you’re collecting spears, you may want to pick up the stone carvings and put them back in place. If all you want is to collect the spears for the sake of the quest, then you don’t need to do this. However, since you’ll already be clearing Champion’s Demise while doing this quest, you might as well beat the Khazra Abomination in the boss room.
Completing Raising Spears will reward you witha splash of XP and an item cache. Neither of these rewards are that significant for your character’s progress, but if you plan on hunting some ofDiablo 4’sachievements/trophies, then you’ll need to knock this quest (and its successors) out.
The follow-up to this quest is Fury Against Fate, which can be started back at the Crane Tribe’s village. It’s a lot simpler than Raising Spears and Consumed by Pride, and it’s also the last part of the Crane Tribe’s questline.
