ADiablo 4dev has confirmed plans to make an important change to a frustrating aspect found in some of the game’s boss fights. This should lead to particular boss fights inDiablo 4being much more satisfying to complete.
Diablo 4has come a long way since its 2023 launch, and Blizzard is always looking at ways it can improve and balance the game in ways that are more satisfying for players. The developer has been quick to roll outimportantDiablo 4updates, especially throughout Season 8, when many fans were left less than impressed with the game’s latest offerings. However, there’s one change that some fans have wanted to see from certain boss fights for a while now.
In an exchange on X,Diablo 4’s Director of Social and Content Marketing at Blizzard, Adam Fletcher, was asked about the possibility of removing the immunity phase from certainDiablo 4boss fightssuch as Andariel, Duriel, and Mephisto. According to Fletcher, there are plans in place to “fix this up” in a future update. While Fletcher stopped short of describing Blizzard’s solution, it could be multiple things. Removing it entirely from these fights is a possibility, but nerfing it doesn’t seem out of the question, either. Regardless, it’s good that Blizzard is aware that players are unhappy with the current implementation.
Diablo 4 Has Plans to ‘Fix’ Immunity Phase in Certain Boss Fights
The immunity phase slows down the fights, making them frustrating for experienced players to complete, so it makes sense that Blizzard would be looking to change this. Importantly, Fletcher didn’t give a timescale for when these plans would come to fruition.Diablo 4’s Season 9 initial patch notesmake no mention of such changes, so it definitely won’t be from the start. It’s possible that they won’t be made in Season 9 at all, so fans will just have to remain patient in this regard.
Diablo 4Season 9 is set to begin on July 1, promising a host of new additions to the game, including features such as Escalating Nightmares and Horadric Spellcraft. After a more lukewarm response to Season 8, there’s slight pressure for Blizzard to deliver a better experience for players this time around, so hopefully, it can deliver, even if the immunity changes won’t be in place for the start of Season 9.
