Bungie released update 9.0.0.4 forDestiny 2, continuing to fix numerous issues with The Edge of Fate, including finally addressing the frustrating ability stats issue with armor. It hasn’t been the smoothest of launches for Bungie’s latest expansion forDestiny 2, though the company continues to release updates almost on a weekly basis in an effort to fix issues impacting players.

For Bungie, Edge of Fate represents a new era forDestiny 2, as the game made sweeping changes to many elements of the game, including its armor systems and even how players start new activities in The Portal. Unfortunately, theDestiny 2expansion launch suffered from numerous issueswhile also seeing a declining player count overall. Since the Edge of Fate release, Bungie has continued to plug away at some of the biggest issues highlighted by the community, including a recent update which finally fixes the frustrating armor stats bug.

For many fans, the biggest change in this update will be with armor.Destiny 2players have been frustrated by incorrect ability stats on armor, with Bungie originally indicating that 70 would be the minimum value to see similar regeneration rates to pre-Edge of Fate. However, after extensive testing by some community members, it was discovered that players would actually need to get to a minimum of 85 in order to start seeing the regeneration benefits. This update finally fixes this discrepancy for Super, Melee, and Grenade values.

In addition to fixing various bugs impacting weapons and other parts of the game, the other big piece to this update is with ammo. Brick Scanner is now compatible with the new ammo system, scanning the area for players that are out of ammo and picking them up automatically. TheNew Land Beyond exotic forDestiny 2has also increased its ammo in PvP from 1 to 2, while Bungie also confirmed various special weapon types in PvE are seeing an ammo buff as well. Finally, certain exotics, like Choir of One, are getting their base Ammo Generation stats boosted as well.

While the update will certainly alleviate some fan frustrations, Bungie is also dealing with anothercontroversy surroundingDestiny 2’s Desert Perpetual raid. Following the Contest Mode race, reports began indicating that some players were cheating, which prompted an investigation by Bungie. Bans have already begun for those caught, which has even resulted in some players noticing that they’ve moved up on the overall leaderboard as cheaters are being removed.
