Summary

In the Hashira Training arc, the Demon Slayer Corps had an urgentmeeting led by Amane Ubuyashikifollowing the battle in Swordsmith Village. Focused on recent developments and based on the understanding that Muzan Kibutsuji is perhaps prepared for an all-out war, it was decided that the Hashira would train other members of the Corps for the battle ahead.

As an ancient organization that has been humanity’s shield against demons for centuries, the Demon Slayer Corps understands that they run the risk of getting wiped out if Kibutsuji succeeds in conquering the sun. Since this could be a death blow to the hopes of ever stopping the Demon King and his underlings, the stakes have never been higher. Now that an all-out war seems inevitable, the Demon Slayer Corps must achieve these things to stop their worst fears from being realized.

Demon Slayer

Manifest the Demon Slayer Mark

Even Hashira Stand No Chance Against Upper Moons Without the Marks

In the Swordsmith Village, when Tanjiro was fighting Hantengu, he pushed himself beyond his physical limitations and, in a moment of sheer desperation and rage, ended up manifesting the mysterious Demon Slayer Mark. It immediately transformed him into a far more efficient fighter capable of overwhelming even an Upper Moon. This set a chain event into motion, allowing Mitsuri and Muichiro to awaken their marks as well.

Your children are carrying out your will, and making sure your hopes live on. As we speak they’re trying their hardest, all for the sake of your ardent desire, to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji once and for all. ~ Amane Ubuyashiki to Kagaya

Mist Hashira went on tosingle-handedly defeat Gyokko, as the Demon Slayer Mark gave himaccess to the Transparent Worldand enhanced his physical capabilities. This was a pivotal moment in the battle that was later discussed in the Demon Slayer Corps meeting with Amane Ubuyashiki.

Defeating Muzan is easier said than done, as fighting the progenitor of all demons is an uphill battle that will push even the top Hashira to their limits. Even then, it is highly likely that they will perish before they can land a fatal blow on the Demon King. To even stand a chance of victory against Muzan, the Hashira must manifest a Demon Slayer Mark. While they did train for itin the Hashira Training arc, reawakening the mark requires specific criteria to be met. As the Hashira are all set to fight the Upper Moons in the Infinity Castle, they must manifest it or risk getting killed en masse.

Eliminate the Upper Moons of the Twelve Kizuki

Before Confronting Muzan, Demon Slayer Corps Must Kill His Underlings

As mentioned earlier, Muichiro, Tanjiro, and Mitsuri manifested their marks and were able to bring down even the Upper Moons. But it needs to be stressed that Akaza, Doma, and Kokushibo are significantly stronger than other demons in the Twelve Kizuki. Awakening the mark will be just a start, as they would need to band together and fight these three in groups. Only in such a scenario do they stand a chance of defeating these demons.

Following the death of Gyokko, Hantengu, Gyutaro, and Daki, three Upper Moon positions were vacant for some time. While Kibutsuji picked a replacement for Hantengu, Gyutaro, and Daki, it is shocking that he appears to have no one to take Gyokko’s place. Even one of the replacements,Nakime, is not as dangerous as others in the Twelve Kizuki. To make matters worse, Kaigaku is also not as experienced and lacks the strength typically expected in an Upper Moon.

These are a few serious strategic oversights that the Demon Slayer Corps needs to take advantage of.Eliminating the Twelve Kizukiis the first step towards a peaceful world, and there has been no better time to do it than now.

Corner Muzan Without His Underlings

Once the Twelve Kizuki is Gone, Kibutsuji Has Nowhere to Turn to

Once the Demon Slayer Corps has managedto bring down Muzan’s underlings, he will have a serious problem on his hands. The Demon King relies heavily on the Upper Moons to do his dirty work. He barely ever fights the Hashira himself and trusts his underlings to do his bidding. But once the Twelve Kizuki is eliminated, he will be isolated with no one to turn to.

I know what eternity is. Eternity is human feeling. Only human feelings last forever and are undying. ~ Kagaya Ubuyashiki to Muzan

The Hashira and other demon slayers must take advantage of this situation to land the fatal blow and bring an end to Muzan’s reign of terror. However, for this to happen, they will have to ensure that they do not suffer heavy casualtieswhile fighting the Upper Moons. Only when Kibutsuji has to fight several strong demon slayers with the mark alone, he will be vulnerable and pushed into the corner for the first time. This would give the demon slayers an upper hand, following which they will hopefully kill the progenitor of the demons himself.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy’s first installment is scheduled to be released in the United States onSeptember 12, 2025.
