Recently, it was revealed that the Demon Slayer manga has sold more than 220 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time. According to new reports, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle arc was in production for 3.5 years, meaning the studio startedworking on it when the Swordsmith Village arc came out.Considering the amount of time spent on the project, it’s quite obvious why the film is getting rave reviews.
If ufotable follows the same pattern, then the next film is likely to release somewhere between 2027 and 2028. While a 2028 release date seems more realistic, the next film could be released earlier provided the studio began working on the next project immediately after wrapping up the Infinity Castle arc.
Solo Leveling And Other Popular Anime Might Copy The Pattern
Following the success of the Infinity Castle arc, other popular anime series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Solo Leveling might take the same approach for their final arcs. Both series have ended, so there is no shortage of material. However,the studios in charge of Solo Levelingand Jujutsu Kaisen understand that it can be extremely time-consuming to produce a film.
So, they might stick with producing regular television series. But they will likely consider the option, since this approach can help them amass a massive amount of money. At the moment, MAPPA has not shared any plans for Jujutsu Kaisen, but it will be releasing a Chainsaw Man film that covers the Reze arc.
