ADeath Stranding 2player has discovered a handy hidden mechanic for porters who don’t mind using lethal force on enemies.Death Stranding 2: On the Beachretains the futuristic exploration gameplay of its predecessor, with Sam strapping on his porter gear once again to reconnect the scattered world, just like he did with America in the originalDeath Stranding. Along the way, he will encounter both the ominous BTs and enemy humans, and luckily, he has plenty of options for defending himself while out on a delivery job.
In fact,Death Stranding 2was designed to be more combat-oriented than the previous game, partly due to complaints that the firstDeath Strandingput too much emphasis on traveling from one destination to another.Higgs has returned with a new lookand an army of soldiers and giant mechs at his disposal, and Sam has plenty more weapons to utilize in the resulting fight against them. However, one major element has been retained from the originalDeath Strandingin that players are discouraged from outright killing enemies, which will generate more BTs and risk a destructive Voidout.
Still, there are plenty of players who don’t mind permanently ending the lives of foes inDeath Stranding 2. YouTube user KLsk recently discovered an easy way to switch Sam’s weapons to “Live Fire mode” by holding both triggers and the circle button whileselecting a weapon fromDeath Stranding 2’s Weapon Wheel. Once activated, players will be able to kill enemies, and they can switch back to the game’s non-lethal offerings by entering the input again.
Death Stranding 2 Hidden Feature Lets Players Kill Enemies
As mentioned before, using lethal fire on human enemies inDeath Stranding 2runs the risk of creating more dangerous BTs and triggering a disastrous Voidout, andSam’s new traveling partner Dollmanconstantly chastises him for ignoring this while using “Live Fire” mode. Like in the firstDeath Stranding, Sam will be advised to take any dead human remains to the nearest distribution center within the Chiral Network to be properly disposed of, but players can choose to neglect this if they don’t mind the consequences.
Just like in the first game,Death Stranding 2features plenty of hidden secrets and fun Easter eggs, including references toJoJo’s Bizarre Adventureandthe upcomingGhost of Yotei. As more players progress throughDeath Stranding 2, they are bound to find even more secrets and hidden features tucked away in Hideo Kojima’s latest cerebral action-adventure title, though hopefully these won’t come with the risk of destroying a chunk of the game’s map or creating more ghosts for Sam to fight or evade.
