Critically,Rematchhas been receiving mixed to positive reviews, though, and the title currently holds an average critic score of 74 onOpenCritic. While most critics have praisedRematch’s mechanics and its unique art style, the game has been criticized due to having performance issues and essentially no solo mode at launch.

It remains to be seen howRematchwill improve over time, but the title likely has a bright future. The developer has recently explained thatRematchwill gain crossplay as soon as possible, as the devs did what they could to include it at launch, but were unable to add the feature in time due to unforeseen technical issues. Other changes coming up soon include fixing lag and performance issues, as well as some major bugs. Unfortunately, there’s no official timeline for these updates, so gamers will have to wait for a while before they can finally play the best version of the popular soccer game. In 2026, Sloclap intends to implement an offline mode with AI teammates toRematch, too, which will certainly be good news for gamers who love soccer games but don’t want to compete with other people all the time.
