Over time, Okarun and Momo have become really close friends. But it is obvious that they do not see themselves as just friends anymore, since they keep feeling pangs of insecurity and jealousy whenever the other gets attention from the opposite sex.

Despite having realized what he now feels for Momo, Okarun will find it difficult to propose. There will be moments when he will put his lifeon the line to protect Ayase. Meanwhile, Momo will frantically search for him first whenever the duo finds themselves in a life-threatening situation. Their natural instincts, more than their words, will reveal what they truly feel for each other.
In one of the scenes, Okarun comes close to confessing their feelings, but like always, they will pull back at the last moment. While their bond is expected to grow stronger in the upcoming season, the deuteragonists are unlikely to start dating anytime soon.
