TheCyberpunk 20772.3 update is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The release may come as a surprise to fans, as CD Projekt Red previously stated that the Switch 2 version ofCyberpunk 2077would not receive the new patch this soon.
After delaying the latest update for its dystopian RPG back in late June 2025, CDPR ended up launching it on July 17. However, the developer’srelease date announcement for theCyberpunk 20772.3 patchspecifically stated that the Switch 2 version of the game wouldn’t be receiving the update alongside other platforms. Instead, the company said that Nintendo’s hybrid console would only get the content drop “at a later date.”
This turned out to be inaccurate, asCyberpunk 2077’s 2.3 updateended up reaching the Switch 2 alongside the game’s other platforms on July 17. Given CDPR’s insistence that this wouldn’t happen, the rollout was a pleasant surprise for some fans. The size of the update on Nintendo’s hybrid console is currently unconfirmed.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 Update Include Switch 2-Specific Changes?
Based on early social media reports from players, the new patch does not seem to include any Switch 2-specific features or changes. Although theSwitch 2 version ofCyberpunk 2077received widespread praise for its performance, some fans are still hoping that the port will receive further optimizations, particularly for scenarios in which it struggles to maintain a stable frame rate, such as high-speed chases through Night City. As things stand right now, anyone hoping for this to happen will need to remain hopeful.
In terms of what’s actually here, the2.3 update expandsCyberpunk 2077with several major features. One of them is the self-explanatory AutoDrive, which brings the ever-popular auto-follow-road prompt to CDPR’s hit RPG. Not only can V’s vehicles now drive themselves to a destination, the player can even call a Delamain cab and enjoy a self-driving ride making use of this same functionality. The update also introduces four additional vehicles: the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred,” Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, and the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila. The first three can be obtained as rewards from new side gigs, while the Legatus 450 Aquila is immediately purchasable through Autofixer.
Like the 2.2 patch, the 2.3 update was primarily developed by Virtuos rather than CDPR. It remains unclear whether any additional content is planned forCyberpunk 2077. Although CDPR has repeatedly indicated since 2023 that no further “major” updates are expected, the game has still received several substantial patches throughout this period. Regardless of whether this pattern persists, the Switch 2 version ofCyberpunk 2077may still receive smaller updates focused on performance improvements.
