Clash Royaleis offering players the chance to grab the upcoming Spirit Empress Legendary card completely for free. Nine years after release,Clash Royaleremains one of Supercell’s biggest moneymakers, earning the studio more than 3 billion USD through lifetime in-app purchases. While not as profitable as its older cousin,Clash of Clans, it follows closely behind.
Clash Royaleis a skill-based card collection game where players can employ cards they unlock by opening chests to play against opponents in a pitched arena battle. Although an active player base at all levels of competition ensures that matchmaking remains fair, high rarity cards like Legendaries and Champions become a limiting factor to competition atArena level 15+ inClash Royale. Players who don’t own a fully maxed-out deck at 7000+ Trophy level have nearly zero chance of competing against those who do. This is why obtaining a Legendary card, especially a newly released one, can be a game-changer.
In a recent Twitter post, the officialClash Royaleaccount shared that the new Legendary card, Spirit Empress, will be available for free to all players through the online Supercell Store from July 7-20. Players will be able to claim Spirit Empress as soon as Season 73 kicks off on July 7 at 9:00 UTC from the main store page by connecting theirClash RoyaleSupercell account to the Supercell store. Temporary guest accounts or those registered using third-party services will not work; only an account with an active Supercell ID is eligible to participate. Additionally, only those at Arena 11 or above will be able to claim Spirit Empress.
Clash Royale: How to Get Spirit Empress for Free
Spirit Empress is a Legendary rarity card inClash Royalewith two forms, a three elixir form and a six elixir form. If used when the player only has three elixir, Spirit Empress will enter the arena as a melee ground unit, dealing damage comparable to a Knight, but when used with six elixir, Spirit Empress will take to the skies, appearing on the field atop a flying dragon, and dealing damage from afar, similar to a Baby Dragon.
The reaction from theClash Royalecommunity has been generally positive, as Supercell’s move of offering a card completely for free, and a Legendary one at that, is a welcome occurrence. Additionally, Spirit Empress’s design and two-in-one format make it one of the more unique cards to be added to the game. Due to the hard limit of 8 cards per deck, Spirit Empress’s flexibility may just shift thecard meta forClash Royalein the upcoming seasons.
That said, actually using Spirit Empress in Ladder outside of its promotional buff duration will require leveling it up. A level 9 Legendary, no matter how powerful, simply isn’t viable at high levels. Fortunately, obtaining one Spirit Empress means players will be able to use their storedmagic items inClash Royale, like Legendary Wild Cards and Legendary Book of Cards, to instantly level it up if they so choose.
