Summary

The recent chapter ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortexsaw Boruto finally intervene in the losing fight between Matsuri and Konohamaru, as well as Ryu and Sarada’s troupe. While Boruto does make quick work of the hostile Matsuri by chopping her into pieces, his entry into the battlefield is immediately noticed by Jura - as predicted by Kashin Koji.

Not only that, Kashin Koji even warned Boruto that facing Jura at this stage is a death sentence, as Boruto hasn’t cultivated all the skills he needed to defeat the Shinju’s leader. Boruto, ever as stubborn as his father, rushes into the scene anyway. This showdown reveals not just Jura’s remarkably powerful skillset, but also exactly the kind of training Boruto had to endure to try and keep up with the Human God Tree. And when Boruto decides to use his seemingly all-powerful Uzuhiko against the villain, Jura’s next action has been quite the unexpected - and potentially fatal - surprise.

Boruto And Jura’s Much-Awaited Showdown

It May Have Happened Too Soon

While Boruto waswatching Konohamaru and his peersstruggle against Matsuri and Ryu, Kashin Koji ordered the youngster to stand down and stop any thoughts of intervening. As Jura is connected to his fellow Shinju, Boruto’s presence will undoubtedly call Jura to step into the scene - and he’s at a power level neither Boruto nor even Kashin Koji could match. So when Jura does enter the battlefield, he does so with such a ridiculous amount of force.

Not only can Jura match Boruto’s speed, but he can use his Dojutsu to set up Tailed Beast Bombs as bursts or lasers - both of which can cause craters on the ground. He also seems capable of some form of Earth Release, as he can release spikes from the ground that easily restrain Boruto. Kudos to Boruto as he did manage to outpace Jura with the Flying Raijin and even land a hit with the Rasengan, but it seems Jura’s pure firepower is more than enough to catch the youngster.

Uzuhiko Is Being Prepped As The Jura Destroyer

However, Jura restraining Boruto on the ground allowed Boruto to access his trump card, the Rasengan: Uzuhiko, which utilises the rotational force of the planet to affect its target. Boruto’s initial usage of Code proved the Uzuhiko’s might by permanently disorienting the White Kama user, and he uses the same technique on Jura before preparing to finish him off. If it works, the full power Uzuhiko should do to Jura what it had done to Hidari when it’s used for the first time: complete decimation.

But here’s the kicker - Jura easily understands the Uzuhiko’s “true nature” andmanages to shrug off the disorientation. This shocked not just Boruto but also bystanders Kashin Koji and Ada, especially when Jura said the Uzuhiko worked the same as his Tailed-Beast Balls - and as such, made its nullification relatively easy.

Enter The Tailed Beast Balls

The Progenitor Of The Rasengan

Jura’s statement about the similarities between the Tailed Beast Balls and Rasengan: Uzuhiko leave more questions than answers. After all, Tailed-Beast Balls - regardless if shaped like a ball, a cone, or a beam - are explained to require an 8:2 ratio of positive black and negative white chakras to create. When Minato Namikaze saw a Tailed-Beast Ball in action for the first time, he wanted to “recreate” this ability into a technique that his wife Kushina Uzumaki could use with her chakra reserves should she ever get deployed in battle.

Enterthe Rasengan: the pinnacle in shape-transformation techniques, as it requires the molding of chakra into a ball before deployment. In this regard, Jura might be calling back into the “shaping” aspect of the Tailed Beast Balls - wherein the 8:2 ratio of chakra could be released into any shape as long as its consistent. Although Rasengan: Uzuhiko might be using “planetary chakra” to operate, this “planetary chakra” could still be similar to the raw form of Tailed-Beast Balls, which means Jura could simply “reverse” or disrupt the shaping process to stop it from functioning.

Boruto Might Be Making His Own Energy Balls Soon

The Otsutsuki’s True Characteristics Have Yet To Be Revealed

However, a key detail that fans may have missed about this confrontation would be what this implies for Boruto: there’s nothing that technically “stops” him from doing the same, but in reverse. What this means is that Boruto -now technically an Otsutsuki- should also be able to “elevate” his mastery over the Rasengan due to his unique physiology. After all, whereas Jura can make his Tailed Beast Bombs, the likes of Momoshiki have demonstrated the capability of harnessing chakra to make unnamed energy balls - a technique Boruto could technically access with enough training.

While Boruto is no Bijuu (and can therefore “not” create his Tailed Beast Bombs), he can tap into his biology and use the same familiarity over chakra and create even more unique variations of energy balls outside the traditional Rasengan. This should give Boruto the opportunity to “create” a brand new technique that readers can witness, much like Naruto with the creation of the Rasenshuriken. Boruto could even upgrade his Rasengan: Uzuhiko to break through its Tailed Beast origin, whether through the infusion of another energy source (like Sage Chakra) or even his yet-activated Jougan.

Boruto
