InWarframe’sIsleweaver update, Valkyr received a few major changes to her kit. While she still plays mostly the same as before, players can expect her to be a lot feistier with how she fights and how she handles tough enemies, especially on high-level missions. Valkyr’s rework also means that her best builds also need to be adjusted.
Previous Valkyr builds inWarframeshould still work with her reworked kit, albeit with some minor changes to mods, Arcanes, and overall mindset. This guide aims to create a permanent Hysteria build for Valkyr that takes all the changes to her kit into account.
Arcanes
Arcane Battery
As always, use the better/upgraded versions of mods if you have any available.
The goal of this build is to let playersuse Hysteria for as long as they want without running into Energy issues. For that, we’ll need eitherRage or Hunter Adrenaline. These mods convert any damage you take into Energy, and since you’ll always be taking damage when you’re getting shot at, the Energy flow should never stop unless every enemy within range is dead.
The next important thing players need isa higher Energy pool. Valkyr’s base Energy is very low, and if you want to maintain Hysteria for long periods of time, you need some way to make this bigger.Flow(or its Primed version) is enough for most players, but if you really want to get as much energy as possible, getArcane Battery.
For the remaining parts of the build, use mods thatincrease Strength, Efficiency, and Duration. The first two all work with Hysteria, while the third one is more for buffing Warcry. As far as gameplay goes, use Hysteria, cast Warcry off-cooldown, then claw your way to victory.
If you want to make Warcry as Energy-efficient as possible, replace one of the mods above withEternal War, a Valkyr-exclusive mod that extends Warcry’s duration with every melee kill.
Best Weapons for Valkyr
Since this build focuses on Hysteria, the most important weapon for players to mod isValkyr’s Talons. This is an Exalted Weapon, which means it’s baked into the Warframe itself, and it is only usable when you have Hysteria active.
This build usesBlood Rush with Gladiator modsto crank up Valkyr’s critical hit chance through the roof. If you stack your melee combo counter high enough, you’ll get nothing but red crits with every hit. Your weapon mod setup should look something like this:
What About Ranged Weapons?
The guns you choose here are purely up to you. However, we still recommend bringing one that’s fully-built if you’re taking on high-level content.Any ranged weapon with Viral or Magnetic damagewill work well with this build — Viral damage amplifies the damage enemies take to their health, while Magnetic damage can strip shields and Nullifier bubbles extremely quickly.
What Changed With Valkyr’s Rework?
First, Valkyr received a new passive that lets herbuild stacks of Ragewhen hitting or killing enemies. This passive Rage thenincreases her melee damage by up to 300%. If Valkyr’s health falls to zero while her Rage is over 150% full, she consumes Rage to prevent death and gain five seconds of Invulnerability.
Second, Rip Line nowgroups enemies near the point of contact, and once Valkyr lands, she performs a follow-up melee attack. This is great for keeping your Rage and melee combo stacks high.
Third, War Cry can now be cast while moving, andit can be re-casteven if the duration hasn’t expired yet. A nice quality of life change.
Fourth, Paralysis no longer breaks your shield, and it now costs Energy. Additionally, enemies hit with Paralysis areslowed and become vulnerable to melee damage.
Finally,Hysteria no longer makes Valkyr invulnerable. Instead, itbuffs the bonus armor provided by Warcry by 300%, and Valkyr becomesimmune to Status Effects. The rework also decreased the Energy Drain cap for Hysteria, and its Life Steal component now scales with Ability Strength.
As a cherry on top, Hysteria’s melee moveset now flows more smoothly. Sudden stops in its attack animations have been removed, making it more mobile than ever before.
