Ready or Notfeatures more non-lethal weapons than players might have expected, and considering these non-lethal weapons are the only way to effectively get an S Rank on a mission, it’s always agood idea to see the entire selectionavailable and make a decision in regards to the best weapon to use. The best non-lethal weapon in Ready or Not can be debatable, but there are a few undisputed facts when it comes to the arsenal of every officer who wants to arrest life, and not take it.
7Taser
A Tactical Device to Stun Enemies
The Taser might seem like a classic weapon, but it’s very unreliable. The Taser has a very limited range of use as it discharges an electric shock straight from the barrel into a target, and when the Taser actually hits, the enemy is stunned, but can still resist arrest, meaning players aren’t going to be able to switch out from the Taser by the time they’re getting shot. As far as Tactical Devices go, the Taser isn’t the best choice, and even if enemies areplaying in stealthand manage to sneak behind an armed suspect, it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth to zap them with.
6M32A1 Gas
A Grenade Launcher That Fires Periodic CS Gas
The M32A1 Gas is a grenade launcher that works perfectly for intense situations where enemies are not wearing gas masks, as those who are caught in the smoke cloud of the CS gas will cough until they eventually give up, especially whensurrounded by angry officersof the law. The M32A1 needs to be used alongside a gas mask if players want to avoid unnecessary brutal force, and this weapon should be used to sweep through rooms by boxing enemies into a cloud of non-lethal gas. The M32A1 Gas is rather hungry for ammo, ineffective against masked enemies, with limited range due to the slow projectile fire, but it’s still very effective in gassing out entire missions to stop enemies from picking up their guns.
5TRPL
The Pistol-Sized Pepperball Launcher
The only non-lethal secondary weapon in Ready or Not is the TRPL, a sidearm pepperball launcher that allows players to equip a lightweight weapon and take out enemies with ease. This pistol does everything thelethal variantscan do, but better, since it forces targets to cough up their lungs with just a few short shots. However, the TRPL has very limited range and accuracy, and paired with the fact that there are only 6 rounds in a magazine, players will need to be sparring with ammunition instead of trigger-happy, which can put them at a disadvantage when enemies often fight through the pepperball impact.
4TPL
A Mag-Fed and Small Pepperball Submachine Gun
The power of a pepperball launcher is in the palm of your hand with the TPL. This lightweight weapon is ideal for close-range fights, and while the magazine size of the weapon might be limited, it has a great design that makes sweeping rooms very satisfying. Players canmove fasterand aim quicker, allowing them to effectively clear rooms of hostiles. However, like other pepperball launchers, the TPL will be useless in combat scenarios with masked enemies, and the close-range design of the weapon makes it very inaccurate from a distance, but small or close-quarter maps are ideal for a weapon like this, with a fast rate of fire to force anyone to submit during their coughing fit from the pepperballs.
3VPL-25
A Pepperball Assault Rifle with Great Ammo and Control
The VPL-25 is the only non-lethal assault rifle in Ready or Not, which gives it an inherent advantage over some of the lesser weapons. The VPL-25 controls are identical to other assault rifles, meaning players can use reliable sights for medium-range engagements, while also enjoying the versatility of control when sweeping different rooms. However, the VPL-25 can be a bit unpredictable in its design, as the pepperballs fired will not always make targets drop to their knees and surrender, as they might cough for a while and then immediately resume shooting. Another disadvantage of the VPL-25 is that it’s completely useless against masked enemies, so if players arerunning a missionthat contains enemies wearing gas masks, this weapon is completely useless. The VPL-25 isn’t the best non-lethal weapon, but it does get the job done for trigger-happy players who do not want to actually kill suspects, so bring plenty of ammo, unload pepperballs, and enjoy the results.
2M32A1 Flash
A Grenade Launcher with Impact Detonation for Flash Bang Effects
If players are looking for a brutally fast and effective weapon, then the M32A1 Flash has them covered. This grenade launcher variant fires out flash grenades, which detonate on impact, meaning one pull of the trigger will send a projectile flying that will blind and disorientate anyone caught in the blast. This is most effective against large groups of enemies, or rooms yet to be cleared. Pull the trigger, rush in, and spam commands to ensure everyone cooperates and gets down on the ground with their hands raised. The only problem with the M32A1 is its projectile range and limited ammo capacity, meaning players will need to stock up and aim high inlong-range missions.
1Beanbag Shotgun
Immobilize Suspects on Impact with a Controlled Shotgun
The best non-lethal weapon in Ready or Not is the Beanbag Shotgun, and there are a multitude of reasons for that. Firstly, the Beanbag Shotgun has a very generous ammo selection, and it only takes a single shot to incapacitate an enemy, forcing them to grip their stomach or flinch with the impact of such a hard-hitting weapon that won’t kill them. Sure, a headshot with a Beanbag Shotgun will kill them, but multiple hits to the chest are going to sting and force them to surrender. The Beanbag Shotgun might suffer from limited range, but the majority of missions can be conquered with the Beanbag Shotgun simply because it’s the most effective at putting enemies down without killing them.
