7NPCs And Trading

Fair Trade

It’s not just hostile NPCs and other players that populate the world ofSCUM. Traders are the game’s quest-givers, but they can also be a source of loot and resources. There are four traders in the game, located in North C2, Southwest A0, Northeast Z3, and Southwest B4.

For new players,SCUMdivides its map into square quadrants, so look for the corresponding letter and number on the map.

SCUM

Trader encampments have numerous NPCs, so players can purchase weapons, gear, and even vehicles and parts. Traders are also the primary source of fame and the main way of generating money by selling loot, so new players will want to get familiar with all these locations.

6Farms And Industrial Buildings

Farming Supplies And More

While loot inSCUMisheavily based on RNG, it does follow a certain logic, so players are more likely to find farming supplies in farm buildings, and they are also more likely to find tools in an industrial building with a workshop.

These locations tend to have a lot of searchable containers, so players can stock up on supplies, resources for crafting and building, and sometimes useful gear when they come across these isolated locations. These places are ideal for players just starting out to grab important crafting resources and tools, as they usually contain a handful of puppets that are easily taken out with a melee weapon or basic bow.

5Hunting Camps

Hunter’s Stash

Points of interest with a group of camouflaged tents and a watch tower are hunting camps. These locations often have useful gear, including food, drink, and even weapons.

These locations aren’t the most reliable way to find guns in the game, but if players come across one in the wilderness, they’re definitely worth searching for loot. They usually won’t be populated by anything more than one or two puppets, so they’regood spots for new players.

4Towns And Police Stations

Lucrative But Dangerous

Towns are one of the best locations to get general loot inSCUM, and if players learn to spot specific buildings, they can get some valuable gear. Large towns can have police stations, and these stations usually have lootable weapons lockers that spawn multiple guns, as well as valuable bunker keycards.

Players will need to be able to pick the locked cabinets to get to them,so lockpicks are required. That said, players should bring lockpicks with them any time they intend to loot a town anyway. New players should also be aware that towns are dangerous locations. They’ll always have plenty of puppets and often dangerous NPCs as well. That’s not to mention that on a populated server, towns are a good place to run into other players also looking for loot.

3Military Zones

Combat Gear

As players might expect, some of the best places in the game to find weapons and combat gear inSCUMare the military bases. Places like the airfield (Northwest D4) or the boot camp (Northwest B3) are filled with valuable loot.

They’re also guarded by sentries, the game’s large combat mechs, so players will have to prepare to either sneak around them or stage a well-equipped raid. These kinds of locations are usually only worth taking on by players who are already geared up from looting easier targets.

2Cargo Drops

Watch Out For Other Players

Cargo drops are in-game events that happen on a timer, spawning a cargo drop in a random sector of the map. In single-player, these happen every 30 to 40 minutes and have a 20-minute timer to complete once spawned. Multiplayer servers can have customized settings for cargo drops, so they may not be exactly the same timings.

Players will need to fight increased puppet spawns in the area to get to the cargo drop. Once inside, there are always six loot lockers with high tier loot. All players on a server are notified of a cargo drop happening, so these canbecome hotspots in populated multiplayer games.

1Bunkers

The Good Stuff

There are two types of bunker inSCUM, and this is where the most valuable loot in the game can be found. Large bunkers are guarded by sentries, and players need to input the keypad code to open them. These are large installations, they’re full of loot rooms, and they’re also full of puppets, including special variants. A quiet approach can be the best way to get into these facilities and navigate them. This will allow players to avoid the sentries altogether and avoid drawing too many puppets at once.

The second type of bunker is the small type. These contain less loot but no threats, and they’re opened by specific keycards. Keycards can belooted from police stationsin towns. The highest tiers of loot can be found in the large bunkers. Small bunkers tend to have fewer valuables, but they’re a nice easy bonus reward if players have managed to loot a police station.
