When it comes to building a team of cookies inCookie Run: Kingdom, players usually try to include as many higher-rarity cookies as possible. While it significantly increases the overall power rating of the team, it ignores the synergy between cookies most of the time.

Sometimes, a synergy between two Epic cookies can deliver a better result than two Legendary cookies that work separately from each other. This is the philosophy behind Citrus Squad Cookies, a full team of Summer-themed characters inCookie Run: Kingdomthat can all fit within a team, providing more buffs and improvements to each other.

Lemon Cookie Topping Build 1 - Cookie Run Kingdom

Lemon Cookie is a middle-lineAmbush herothat can work pretty well with other members of the Citrus Squad. Having these cookies next to each other is great, but only a good build for each one of them can unleash their true power.

Lemon Cookie’s Abilities, Explained

The main ability of the Lemon Cookie isLightning Dash, which consists of three steps. At the beginning of his move, Lemon Cookie dashes towards the enemy line, dealing moderately high electrical damage in three ticks within less than 1 second. After the dash, he plants an Electric Cube among the enemies. The bomb detonates as soon as Lemon Cookie is back to his original place within the squad.

The electrical damage that is dealt by the Electric Cube’s explosion is almost five times bigger than the dash damage. Both of these moves can deal even more damage if a Critical hit is triggered. Having extra cookies from the Citrus Squad will increase the chances of dealing critical damage to the enemies.

It’s worth noting that the Citrus Party buff will only be applied to the Citrus Cookie with the highest ATK if there are four Citrus Squad Cookies on the team aside from the Lemon Cookie.

Last but not least, upgrading the Lightning Dash ability will only increase the damage output for Dash, while Electric Cube’s damage remains the same.

Swift Chocolate and Searing Raspberry Topping Build

Knowing that the biggest blow to enemies by Lemon Cookie is done through his Electric Cube, one way to maximize the cookie’s effectiveness in battles is toreduce the cooldown of Lightning Dash, so that you may use the ability more often, especially during boss fights.

To accomplish this, having at leastthree Swift Chocolate piecesin the build is strongly recommended. This will reduce the cooldown of the ability from 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Depending on who is your top damage dealer in the squad, you may put four pieces of Swift Chocolate toppings as well. However, a two-second reduction in cooldown is already enough for this build.

The rest of the spots should be taken with theSearing Raspberry toppings. With this build, you will have an additional 30% ATK, which directly increases the damage output for Lemon Cookie’s abilities.

Last but not least, a topping tart is also required. A Swift Chocolate topping tart is usually not as strong as a Swift Chocolate topping. However, the amount of ATK provided by a Searing Raspberry topping tart is pretty close to a topping of the same flavor (and sometimes even more powerful based on the craft quality). So, Searing Raspberry should take this spot as well, increasing the overall ATK stat by nearly 35% — or even a higher amount.

Juicy Apple Jelly and Searing Raspberry Topping Build

Although Swift Chocolate allows Lemon Cookie to use his Lightning Dash ability more during a battle, you can still keep the cooldown the same and increase the effectiveness of each strike instead. This build will actually be more in line with Lemon Cookie’s CRIT% buff, which increases as you add more cookies from the Citrus Squad to the team.

In this build, Swift Chocolate is replaced withJuicy Apple Jelly, a topping that increases the chances of triggering a critical hit by Lemon Cookie. Each fully upgraded version of an Epic Juicy Apple Jelly will add 9% to the overall CRIT%.

By default, Lemon Cookie has 8% CRIT%, since he is already a member of Citrus Squad. Now, addingthree Juicy Apple Jellytoppings will increase that number to nearly 43%.

Remember that you also get some bonus CRIT% for havingthree toppings of the same flavors.

Now, things get even more interesting when you have the entire squad of Citrus Cookies on the team. This will make the default CRIT% for Lemon Cookie 32%. Then, you have 35% from the toppings, ramping up the CRIT% all the way up to 67%. This means you will deal critical damage more often than normal damage.

This could get even more surprising with a full Juicy Apple Jelly build, which sets the raw CRIT% at 73%, and the addition of Citrus Squad cookies ramps it up to 100%. Meaning, every hit is a critical hit for Lemon Cookie. However, that wouldn’t be an efficient build.

So, keep the Juicy Apple Jellies at three and fill in the remainingtwo spots with Searing Raspberries. Also, choose a topping tart of Searing Raspberry as well. This will make things almost even between CRIT% and ATK, each getting around a 30% boost more or less.

Beascuit Build

The higher the rarity of the Beascuit, the better its effects on the cookie. While both builds above get a fair boost of ATK from the Searing Raspberry toppings and topping tart, an extra stream of improvement for the damage output is always welcome, and that’s what Beascuit is used for.

Upgrading the Beascuit to the maximum levelis always recommended, especially when using builds where Searin Raspberry doesn’t take the majority of spots in the toppings. A max-level Beascuit of Epic rarity will provide over30% of ATK and DEFfor Lemon Cookie, increasing the overall damage output of his abilities.

As explained in the abilities of Lemon Cookie, the best teammates for him are themembers of the Citrus Squad. These include Orange Cookie, Lime Cookie, Marshmallow Bunny, and Grapefruit Cookie.

At the moment, only Marshmallow Bunny and Lemon cookies are available, but the rest ofCitrus Squadwill be released gradually over the course of Summer in the future updates.

Using all the cookies from Citrus Squad within a team enables a massive synergy between these cookies that lets them live up to their full potential. However, now that you don’t have access to them, the best teammates for Lemon Cookie are those who can zap the enemies.

Lemon Cookie’sElectric Cube explosiondeals more damage to targets who are zapped. So, cookies likeStormbringer, Shining Glitter, Olive, Electrifying Rock, Frilled Jellyfish, Agar Agar, Pudding à la Mode, Wizard, andTwizzly Gummycan become great teammates for Lemon Cookie, as they can all apply zap to enemies.
