Quick Links
One of the best things aboutPEAKis all the interesting items you find while climbing. Sure, the game looks great and plays well, but testing outall the different itemsis what makes it really fun. Some can save your life, while others can put it in danger. As such, it’s helpful to know the effects of each one.
If you’re wondering whichPEAKitems are worth holding onto and which ones you can probably skip, this tier list will help you out. Here’s our take on the best and not-so-great items inPEAK.
PEAK Best Items Tier List
We’ve put together a simple tier list of all the items that we have found inPEAKso far. The idea is to help you figure outwhat’s actually worth keeping in your backpackand what you can probably ignore.
Anything in the S-tier category should always be grabbed, A-tier items are still great, just not as game-changing, B-tier items are hit or miss and can help sometimes, C-tier items are useful early on, but you’ll likely replace them later, and D-tier items are usually best left behind.
Reasoning
Cure-All
A lifesaver. It heals your character and clears negative effects. It also gives you three uses.
Anti-Rope Cannon
This item shoots a rope upwards instead of down. It also makes climbing tough spots way easier and is useful in almost all biomes.
Chain Cannon
PEAKplayers can use this item to shoot out a vine and move sideways to tricky spots. It saves a lot of stamina, too.
Faerie Lantern
This is one of the best healing items. It heals youandclears bad effects. It can even help your teammates, but it’s not always easy to find.
Scout Effigy
This is an important item in multiplayer. Scouts can use it to revive their teammates. However, it only works once, so players should use it wisely.
Remedy Fungus
This item creates a green healing zone when thrown. It’s great in multiplayer because it can heal your whole team at once.
Cursed Skull
Revives all your teammates in one go, but you die in the process. It would be an S-tier item if it didn’t take you down with it.
Anti-Rope Spool
Similar to Anti-Rope Cannon. Players can use this item to throw a rope upward to reach high ledges that they can’t climb normally.
Portable Stove
A useful item that allows you to cook food, giving you more energy than what you would get from eating food raw.
Medkit
Heals you back to full health and is really helpful when you’re low on health.
Rope Spool
Can be used to pull your friends up when playing with others. It’s not quite useful in solo mode, though.
Rope Cannon
This item does the opposite of the anti-rope cannon and can be useful in certain situations.
Bandage
Heals a little bit. It’s handy for small injuries and is also easy to find.
Bugle of Friendship
Gives your team unlimited energy for 10 seconds. It’s a useful item, but it doesn’t last long.
Heat Pack
Keeps you warm in the Alpine area. After that, you won’t really need it.
Pirate’s Compass
It points you to unopened luggage boxes, but luggage is not that hard to spot anyway.
Piton
PEAKplayers can use this item while climbing to create a place to rest. Your teammates can also use it, but it breaks fast.
Antidote
It clears poison, but it’s not really useful most of the time; poison is not a big deal after the first two biomes.
Lantern
Helps with frost and lights things up, but Heat Packs do a better job overall.
Pandora’s Lunchbox
Clears your bad effects but gives you new ones. Players should only use this item when they’ve got no other choice.
Bing Bong
Only there for the Bing Bong badge. Doesn’t actually do anything useful.
Big Lollipop
Gives you stamina but hits you with heavy lethargy. It’s just not worth it.
Bugle
Players can use this item near capybaras for the Animal Serenading badge, but other bugles also work.
Only good for trolling your friends. Not helpful otherwise.
Banana Peel
Trips players who step on it. More of a hazard than a tool.
Compass
Points to the mountain early on, but you won’t need it after that.
Flare
Can signal your friends or the helicopter, but it doesn’t do much else. It’s a weak heat source, too.
Scoutmaster’s Bugle
Summons the Scoutmaster, which is a terrible idea unless you want the Mentorship Badge.
