Instead, they add value to the social standing of bunkers called Connection Levels. The more stars a bunker has, the more unlocks will become available. So, let’s go through some side quests that directly unlock content, and which bunkers just hold some of the best optional gear through Connection Levels early on.
8Getting To The Bokka
Let’s Go Fishing With The Sticky Gun
The Bokka is an optional bunker players can find in Mexico, which is located south of one of the main bunkers, Villa Libre. It’s easy to find on the map, and players will probably find some random loot for The Bokka, which is also the name of the leader, as they approach it. The initial connection reward will be the Trekking Boots, which are better than Sam’s starting boots.
Players should continue doing side activities or retrieving lost packages from other players to raise The Bokka’s Connection Level to two. This will unlock the Sticky Gunweapon inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, which players can use to essentially fish for packages via a propelled line.
7Getting To The Artist
Get New Colors For Customization
The Artist bunker is located slightly north of The Bokka, and it’s also an optional bunker, although this one’s leader has a name: Lauren Tsai. All of Lauren’s Connection Level rewards are tied to colors players can use to change various things in Sam’s repertoire, like his clothing orvehicles inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach.
While this may not sound like a huge reward for some players, others love customizing their stuff in open-world games. Completing all five tiers of Lauren’s Connection Levels will unlock ten new colors from various shades of green to pink.
6Standard Order 252: Recover Cactus-Themed Massage Boards
Unlock The Omnireflector Boots
Lauren also has a specific side quest that can unlock a phenomenal pair of boots. First, players have to get through the twelfth main mission near West Fort Knot (F1), which will then unlockfast travel inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach.
When players return to Mexico after this point, all bunkers will have new side quests, including Lauren’s called Standard Order 252: Recover Cactus-Themed Massage Boards. Players have to collect Cactus-Themed Massage Boards nearby in a valley, and the reward will be the Omnireflector Boots, which cannot be replicated.
5Sub Order 100: Deliver The Dismantled Rifle To The Lone Commander
Unlocking Another Optional Bunker
After Mexico, players will make thetrek into Australia, and the first mandatory bunker is called The Government’s Base, run by Old Oz. After establishing a link, he will give players a side quest called Sub Order 100: Deliver the Dismantled Rifle to the Lone Commander.
The Lone Commander is both the name of a bunker north of Old Oz’s place and the name of its leader. It’s not easy to get to because it is infested with BTs, but players should link up with every bunker they can.
4Sub Order 101: Recover The Mementos From The BT Area
Getting The Tranq Sniper Rifle
Getting to The Lone Commander is only part one because he refuses to be linked up to the Chiral Network when players first arrive. He will then ask Sam to prove his worth via Sub Order 101: Recover the Mementos from the BT Area. This can lead to a lot of frustrating deaths as it’s hard to avoid BTs when recovering this item for The Lone Commander.
If players manage to do it, The Lone Commander will hook up to the Chiral Network and reward players with the Tranq Sniper Rifle. A sniper rifle is a godsend inany stealth game, and this is the easiest one to get quickly inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach.
3Reaching Level 2 With Old Oz
After dealing with these requests around The Lone Commander’s area, players should head back down to Old Oz to improve his Connection Level. If players take on Sub Order 102: Recover All Brigands’ Reconnaissance Equipment, they are sure to reach level two after completion. There is a bandit camp setup nearby, and all players have to do is take care of them and retrieve some stolen loot.
The newly acquired Tranq Sniper Rifle should be able to help with this endeavor. Upon reaching level two with Old Oz, players can get the Chiral Antigravity Device, which can be placed on Sam’s backpack to artificially lighten the weight of packages.Every delivery personin reality would assuredly love one of these devices.
2Sub Order 104: Restore Smoke Hill Mine
Mine For Chiral Crystals
The Western Environmental Observatory is close to The Government’s Base, and it’s a bunker that has a lot of great rewards tied to its side quests and Connection Levels. For example, upon establishing a link with the leader, Peter Gates, he will give players their first Battle Skeleton, which is another good device that can help with deliveries.
More specifically, Peter will then post this side quest, Sub Order 104: Restore Smoke Hill Mine, which involves going to an abandoned mine and hooking it back up. Doing so can lead to mining for resources like Chiral Crystals. If players plan to craft a lot of weapons and structures inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, then they should take on this side quest quickly.
1Aid Request: Please Rebuild The Roads
A Faster Way To Get Around
Finally, upon establishing the link with the Western Environmental Observatory, Peter will post this Aid Request called Please Rebuild The Roads. All players have to do is get enough Chiral Crystals, Metal, and Ceramic resources to rebuild a road near this bunker.
Roads will not only make getting around easier, but they will also keep vehicles charged up. It’s a greater meta-side quest withinDeath Stranding 2: On the Beachto rebuild every road in Australia, but worry not, because online players can help too.
