Summary
Ever seen Harvey Keitel inPulp FictionandPoint of No Returnand wondered what it would be like to clean up crime scenes for the mob? Someone at President Studio must’ve thought so when they madeCrime Scene Cleaner, a game in which players take the role of a cleaner who must scrub up the mafia’s work to get enough cash tosave their daughter’s life.
It takes more than soap and water to tidy them up, too. Players need to dispose of bodies, remove any nasty odors, and scrub up any blood stains until the scene’s clean, even under a black light. All of this requires good detergents, and the game has quite a few on offer. That said, some options are better than others.
6Clean Detergent
Keeping Things Fresh
Even with the best detergents, the water in the bucket is eventually going to get dirty, and if players keep using it, they’re just going to make more of a mess. That’s when they’ll have to change it and put in a fresh amount of detergent. They can run out if they change it too frequently, however, which can leave them up the proverbial creek if they still have stuff to clean.
Luckily, if they’re able to get theClean Detergentupgrade, they’ll be able to make their water last longer before it needs changing. It won’tmake cleaning up stains any easieror clean more surface areas before the player’s tools need a fresh rinse. It just keeps the water clean enough for washing for longer, which is enough for the early stages. That said, once the later stages pop up, players will need something stronger.
5Cleaner Detergent
Why Be Clean When You Can Be Cleaner?
Different detergents have different effects, which can be stacked up to three times if the player has more than one to play with. Though if the player is constantly mixing detergents, they’re going to run out of them pretty fast. This is where items like theCleaner Detergentcome in, as it comes with two effects instead of one.
It allows the water in the bucket to last longer before it needs changing. This permits players to clean more surfaces with the mop before it needs another rinse, letting tools last longer in the field. Sadly, these effects aren’t as strong as stacking the Resistance and Clean Detergents. It’s a jack-of-all-trades option, but it’s still better than a master of none.
4Pure Detergent
Good For Making Things Pristine
Like the Cleaner Detergent, thePure Detergentis another cleansing agent that combines two different effects into one. In this case, it can cleanse lighter stains more easily across larger areas and rub out tougher stains from more fiddly locations. So, whether players can clean off stuff in a swipe or need to put in some elbow grease, this detergent would have them covered.
Also like the Cleaner Detergent, these effects are weaker by about 10% compared to their dedicated alternatives. Some players have gotten far by combining either of these double-mix options with the Resistance Detergent. On their own, however, they’re still more of a backup option when compared to others.
3Resistance Detergent
Keeping Tools Fresher for Longer
TheResistance Detergentdoes for the player’s tools what the Clean Detergent does for water. It’ll make them last longer in the field before needing a fresh rinse in the bucket. On top of giving the playermore time to look for secrets, it can spell the difference between getting rid of a stubborn stain and leaving behind some easily detectable residue at the end of the level.
If players have the right tools for the right job, then anything that keeps them scrubbing and spraying for longer is a good thing. It comes in handy as a boost to other detergent mixes, and if they end up running short on the others, its tool-extending properties could be enough to help players clean off any spots they missed before it eventually runs dry.
2Strength Detergent
Tough On Dirt And Other Substances
Blood, among other things, is one of the hardest substances to clean off, particularly when it comes toremoving crime scene evidence. Getting it out of clothes or handkerchiefs might require some Persil and a washing machine. Making a probable murder site look fresh as a daisy is another matter, particularly when CSI brings in the black lights and other gear.
If players manage to get far enough into the game to get some upgrades, it couldn’t hurt for them to invest in someStrength Detergent. It’ll let them clean stubborn stains and rougher surfaces more easily, making it a handy option for tougher levels or for finishing off any difficult spots after they’ve already cleaned off the rest of the stage.
1Area Detergent
Every detergent inCrime Scene Cleanerhas its uses, be it as a backup cleaner or a booster to the player’s potent mixture, but the best of the bunch is theArea Detergent. As the name suggests, it’ll let the player clean larger surface areas, so they can swab further for longer before needing a fresh dip. This is incredibly useful, as the game’s crime scenes only get messier as the levels go on.
With this detergent, players will be able to clean more broadly, rather thansuffering death from a thousand scrubs. Easy stains can be removed with a swipe with this detergent alone, and mixing it with the Strength Detergent can make the more stubborn ones less of an issue. Throw in a little Resistance Detergent, and cleaning can become a breeze.
