Destiny 2: The Edge of Fateforever changes the way armor works, providing new bonuses and stats to focus on when it comes to crafting the perfect build and loadout. With a complete overhaul to stats in Destiny 2, it’s going to be vitally important for players to know the best stats to invest in when it comes to PvE content, especially in the endgame. No longer will players have to invest in Resilience to stand a chance in a fight, as instead, there’s a whole new roster of players to focus on when it comes to armor stat rolls and mods, and here are thebest choices to invest in,ranked by usefulness from best to worst.
Reload and Handling (+0-10%)
Primary/Special Damage (+0-15%)
Heavy Weapon Damage (+0-10%)
Weapons is easily the most useful stat to invest in for PvE. With high stats in Weapon, players will see a massive increase to their weapon reload speed and handling, along with an increase to weapon damage against minor and major enemies. Maxed out at +15% more damage, players are going tofeel the power of every bullet, especially when this damage is further increased against bosses if they invest past the 100 stat. The Enhanced Benefits for Weapons includes a higher chance to get more ammunition from Ammo Brick drops, along with an increase to Primary, Special, and Heavy weapon damage against bosses, thus making this a must-have for endgame activities when you need all the damage you’re able to get.
Super Energy (+49-190%)
Damage (+0-45%)
The Super stat is super simple, but super important. With an investment into Super stats, players will see a massive increase to the amount of Super energy that they gain from all sources. This means that they will get their Super back in no time just by waiting around, shooting enemies, or eliminating them. The change up to Armor 3.0 has made it very hard to get repeating Supers, meaning most players will only get their Super once or twice in a lengthy activity. However, by investing fully into the Super stat for PvE, players will easily get their Super at least 4 to 5 times, and perhaps even more. Supers are always important, but with the difficulty ramping up for those who want tohit beyond the Power threshold, it’s better to invest here now more than ever before. Players will essentially double the amount of Super energy they gain, and Enhanced Benefits provide a large damage boost that might not help everyone, but it’s certainly nice to use with powerful Supers against bosses that have a wipe mechanic.
Overshield Health (+0-40HP)
Class Ability Energy (+49-190%)
For those who invest in the Class stat, they will see a reduction to the Class ability cooldown, which means that they can use their Titan Barricades, Hunter Rolls, and Warlock Rifts, far quicker than players who are ignoring this stat. While Class went under the radar in Armor 2.0, Bungie has made sure thatArmor 3.0 makes Class a must-have, since players are going to benefit from using their Class ability a lot more with synergy from weapon perks,Artifact perks, and their Fragments and Aspects. Even better still is that overpowering the Class stat for Enhanced Benefits provides an overshield when you use the Class ability, meaning not only is it an ability that could save the team, but it’s going to give you more health to fight with less risk.
Damage (+0-65%)
Grenade Ability Energy (+49-190%)
There’s always a competition depending on the build over what’s better between Grenade and Melee, but for Armor 3.0, Grenadeis definitely better. Both stats offer the same advantages, providing players with reduced ability cooldown and an increase to grenade energy and damage, which is why Grenade wins out. With the Grenade stat invested in, players can throw more grenades than they know what to do with, which is especially useful in endgame encounters where players will want to be tossing grenades with weakness effects and other grenades that provide them with healing and enemies with negative effects. Further investment into the Grenade stat sees a large chunk of additional damage, making a grenade worth it for most over Melee.
PvE Damage (+0-30%)
Melee Energy (+49-190%)
Melee builds are always a fun time, as they allow players to run across the battlefield and rely purely on their fists and Glaives to get the job done. With the Melee stat, players will be reducing their Melee cooldown, while increasing the amount of Melee energy gained from all sources, and the Enhanced Benefit will further increase the Melee damage dealt to opponents for both PvE and PvP. However, inendgame activitieswhere enemies have so much health and deal so much damage, running up to them with your fists raised is a death sentence.
Flinch Resistance (+0-10%)
Shield Health (+0-20 HP)
Health is by far the worst stat to invest in, as every player will have an automatic Resilience boost, which is not further raised by increasing Health. All the Health stat does is increase the amount of health obtained when picking up an Orb of Power, and reduces flinch while getting shot when aiming. Even the enhanced benefits after 100 stats only mildly boost Shield Health and recharge rate, thus leaving the Health stat in a pretty poor spot that can actively be avoided, as it doesn’t impact resilience, recovery, or total health. While Health isn’t worth investing into, players will still want to make sure they have around 10 to 20 for this stat so that they can trade itwith Tier 5 armor, and ensure they’re not below the threshold of Health per Orb.
