EA has shared a comprehensive overview of all fourBattlefield 6multiplayer classes. Among the revealed details are the newBattlefield 6class specializations, gadgets, unique traits, and weapon proficiencies.

The publisher has previouslyrevealed limited details about theBattlefield 6class system, confirming it will feature revamped classes with fixed and customizable elements alike. It said every archetype will have a unique gadget, trait, and a signature weapon that grants perks when used by the matching class (because weapons are no longer class-locked). A new Training Path system was also confirmed, designed with the goal of adding mid-match progression and one-time-use abilities.

During the recently concludedBattlefield 6multiplayer reveal event, EA delved into the upcoming shooter’s class system in much greater detail. This included a breakdown of every defining characteristic of the game’s four classes: Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon, each offering more specialization depth than ever before.

Specialization paths are at the heart ofBattlefield 6’s new class system, with each archetype being given two unique options on this front. Assault players can choose between frontline versatility and grenade-heavy breaching, while Engineers can either focus on anti-vehicle disruption or repair support. Recon players can specialize in long-range lethality or stealth flanking, and the Support class will be able to commit to the path of a combat medic or a fire suppression specialist.

Each path unlocks traits such as ammo sharing, silent movement, faster revives, or even the ability to block enemy revives, allowingBattlefield 6players to fine-tune their characters. Paths also evolve over the course of a match, unlocking new abilities. Taken together, this system has the potential to support a varied multiplayer experience with considerable strategic depth. Naturally, how all of this impacts the game’s meta will still largely depend on overall balancing. One potential drawback is that it could make the game more challenging to balance from a developer’s perspective.

Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Beta Starting Soon

The upcoming shooter’s class design appears geared toward reestablishing the tactical identity of theBattlefieldfranchise. Whether it succeeds in doing so should become clearer on August 7, when its beta is scheduled to kick off. The beta will initially only be available to Battlefield Labs members, but then expand to everyone in the August 9–10 period, which falls on Friday and Saturday. Another extended open beta weekend is then set to take place between August 14 and 17, Thursday to Sunday.Battlefield 6’s full-fledged PC and current-gen console release is scheduled for October 10.
