A newBaldur’s Gate 3mod has made the game’s Honour Mode much more brutal than it already is. Although it isn’t specifically designed to be played exclusively in Honour Mode, thisBaldur’s Gate 3mod will definitely affect those playthroughs the most.
Honour Mode isBaldur’s Gate 3’s biggest challenge to players. All decisions are permanent, and reverting to the previous save is impossible, meaning players are stuck with the consequences of their actions, good or bad. When a player’s party is wiped out, the Honour Mode run is officially a failure, making it extra brutal for those who make it far into the game before dying. Some players instead choose to min-max thebestBaldur’s Gate 3Honour Mode buildsto make things a little easier, although it’s much rarer to see players looking to make it even harder for themselves.

As spotted byThe Gamer, a new mod over on Nexus Mods has popped up titled “No Second Chances - No Rerolling with Inspiration.” It does exactly what the title implies - it removes the ability for players to reroll their failed D20 checks usingInspiration inBaldur’s Gate 3. According to creator yoonmoonsick, this adds “true tension and consequence in every decision” and “forces you to live with the results of fate.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Disables D20 Rerolls With Inspiration
This would prove particularly brutal for those playingBaldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode. It’s not explicitly designed for the game mode, but it would definitely have the most impact there. As it stands, Inspiration remains one of the fail-safes for players who fail a particularly difficult dice roll, giving players another chance for fate to be on their side. Without this, what’s done is done, and players are left to tackle their adventure no matter what the D20 determines. In Honour Mode, the removal of Inspiration could even be the difference between the run ending and continuing. There are variousmods that make Honour Mode harder inBaldur’s Gate 3, but this might be the toughest yet.
It’s great to see a wide variety of mods still being released forBaldur’s Gate 3. The good news is thatBaldur’s Gate 3is one of thebest PC games to start moddingthanks to its thriving community, and there’s no indication that creators will slow down any time soon.
