Obsidian Entertainment has recently released Update 1.5 forAvowed. The new update makes many improvements toAvowed, fixing problems and adding more content to the RPG, as well as some new mechanics to certain classes.
Released back in February,Avowedis the latest game developed by Obsidian. Since then, the RPG has received multiple updates.WithAvowed’s Update 1.4, the RPG received quite a few improvements, such as enhancements to map exploration, as well as some quality-of-life features and new setting options.
Now,Avowed’s recent Update 1.5 has made some significant changes to the game. Apart from fixing many bugs and balancing some aspects of the experience, the update introduced new, unique items, including armor and weapons that could help specific builds work better in the early game. One of the most important balancing changes made in the patch is that the Ranger and Fighter classes gained more abilities and passives to improve them when compared to the Wizard’s ability tree. Some enemies also received improvements to their combat mechanics, and cooking and crafting were enhanced. Additionally,Avowedgained support for Korean and Japanese languages, and is finally verified for Steam Deck.
The new update has already appeared inAvowed’s official roadmap, which was shared in May. Overall, the update is pretty much what fans expected, refining the gameplay and adding new elements that should balance the experience of most players. The next major update is set for Fall 2025, and it’s said to bring exciting features such as New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a new weapon type, more character presets, and Godlike feature presets to the game.
Of these upcoming changes, it’s likely thatNew Game Plus will be a hit withAvowed’s community. One of the main complaints gamers had when the title was released was that they received powerful equipment and abilities in the endgame, butAvowedsimply lacked challenges for them to actually use these items for.
While official sales numbers were not revealed, Obsidian Entertainment has previously confirmed thatthe studio was happy withAvowed’s sales. However, it’s not currently known if Obsidian is developing a sequel, so the game’s future remain uncertain after the next update.Avowed’s director, Carrie Patel, also left Obsidian to work for Night School Studio recently, which designed titles such asOxenfreeandAfterparty, so it’s impossible to tell what impact this could have on the game’s chances of a follow-up.
