EA started off the year by shutting downRory McIlroy PGA Tour, seven mobile games, andThe Simpsons: Tapped Out.The Simpsons: Tapped Outshutting downwas especially depressing, as the game built a dedicated fanbase over the years that was playing daily. The EA shutdowns continued in February withUFC 3, and in March withEA Sports UFC Mobile 2andNCAA 14.
The most recent game shut down by EA wasMadden NFL 21.Madden NFL 21servers shut down on June 30, making it impossible for those that own the game to unlock all of its achievements/trophies or enjoy all of its game modes. Unfortunately, at least two more EA games are being shut down before the year is out.Madden NFL 22is shutting down on October 20, whileFIFA 23is shutting down on December 12. From those points forward, gamers will not be able to enjoy those titles to their fullest and will be unable to access certain game modes. Offline modes will still be available, but that’s it.
