A newArk: Survival Ascendedupdate is now available to download on PC and consoles with crucial bug fixes mid-way into July 2025. Designated as version number 68.34, the newest update targets performance issues inArk:Ragnarok Ascended, one of the free DLC expansions forArk: Survival Ascended, among other reported issues in the game.
Released on June 11, 2025, in early access,Ark: Survival Ascendedis quickly approaching its second anniversary. Thus far, reception forArk: Survival Ascendedhas been mixed in its early access period, with many Steam users having problems with the MMO survival crafting game’s performance on PC and “pay to win” DLCs. However, the steady flow of updates and content has kept many players coming back for more. On June 20, developer Studio Wildcard released thefreeArk: Ragnarok Ascendedexpansion, which added a vast Norse-inspired map that spans 144 square kilometers. The DLC offers various new biomes and locales to explore, but it has caused its fair share of problems, leading to its “Mixed” overall review rating on Steam as well.
The v68.34 update forArk: Survival Ascendedwas released on Friday, July 18, with a slew of bug fixes and adjustments. There’s nonew content forArk: Survival Ascendedin this update, as it focuses on fixing issues found inArk: Ragnarok Ascended, including low frame rates and performance impacts during sandstorms. Basilosaurus spawns were increased, and players should now be able to input codes correctly intoArk: Ragnarok Ascended’slabyrinth puzzle without issues going forward.

The latestArk: Survival Ascendedupdate also brings bug fixes to the base game and mod maps, ensuring compatibility. The save icon should now appear for mod maps, and players should be able to delete saves when needed. Backup saves for mod maps were also fixed in the v68.34 update. These fixes are especially helpful for players wanting to load upmod maps inArk: Survival Ascendedand make sure their saves and progress are maintained.
Lastly, there were some miscellaneous fixes toArk: Survival Ascendedto round out the July 18th update. Thylacoleo’s swimming animation when holding jump has been fixed, and certain items will no longer go into the landscape when tossed on the ground. It’s clear that more fixes will be necessary, as the Steam review section forArk: Ragnarok Ascendedhighlights some issues that have yet to be fixed in the latest update or previous updates since the expansion’s release this past June. Fortunately, players won’t have to wait long for more, asArk: Survival Ascendedis getting another content drop in August.
