There are 12 suits that players can unlock in Death Stranding 2, and each of them has been listed below with descriptions on how to get them, along with the special effects players will get when wearing them.

Unlocked after connecting the Northern Environmental Observatory in Main Order 16.
Desert Green Suit
Camouflages you in muddy or mossy environments.
Reach Connection Level 2 with the Dowser (connected via Main Order 21).
AI Suit
Prevents the wearer from being detected by mole mines AI cameras.
Pizza Chef Suit
N/A.
Reach Connection Level 5 with the Pizza Chef (connected via Main Order 24 and must find his Misanga in the nearby MULE base).
Desert Red Suit
Camouflages you in muddy and sandy environments.
Reach Connection Level 4 with the Pioneer (connected after Main Order 28 by the Motherhood).
Woodland Suit
Camouflages you in muddy and mossy environments.
Unlocked after connecting The Ghost Hunter (Sub Order 109 from the Chronobiologist, who is connected via Main Order 31)
Junji Ito Suit
Ananti-BTeffect; making it easier to escape from gazers and watchers.
Unlocked after connecting the East Distribution Center (F5) in Main Order 34.
Rescue Suit
Animals cannot escape when secured to this suit.

There are a total of 9 hats and 2 hoods inDeath Stranding 2, and each of them requires a unique unlock for players to complete via connections across Australia. Hats and hoods are cosmetics placed on Sam’s head that allow for some pretty great effects, and each of them can be found below:
Automatically unlocked after Main Order 7.
Nousagi Hat
Slows the rate at which stamina is depleted and makes Sam say “Peko!”
Reach Connection Level 2 with the Data Scientist after Main Order 25.
Knitted Cap
Makes it harder to lose consciousness.
Reach Connection Level 4 with the Pizza Chef (connected via Main Order 24 and must find his Misanga in the nearby MULE base).
Pizza Chef’s Hat
Slows the rate at which stamina is depleted.
Chiral Rodent Hat
Has a calming effect on nearby chiral creatures.
Reach Connection Level 2 with the Metagenomicist (connected via Main Order 33).
Chiral Spider Hat
Has a calming effect on nearby chiral creatures. If Sam’s stamina drops below a certain level, the hat will also draw blood in order to replenish it.
Reach Connection Level 4 with the Metagenomicist (connected via Main Order 33).
Santa Hat
Reach Connection Level 3 with the Phantom Smith (connected via Main Order 40).
Otter Hood
Greatly improves your swimming abilities and stops Sam from drowning.
Unlocked afterconnecting the Inventorby finding lost cargo around Mine North of F1.
Camel Hood
Reduces stamina drain in the heat and slightly increases cargo capacity. The hood’s water supply will restore Sam’s stamina if it drops to a certain level, and it replenishes when the hood is exposed to timefall or immersed in water.
Reach Connection Level 2 with the Pioneer (connected after Main Order 28 by the Motherhood).

There are a total of 10 sunglasses and 3 masks inDeath Stranding 2, and despite these visual differences and unlock requirements of each of them, players will see the same effect for each as all they do is block direct sunlight and reflect it, as well as allowing for Sam to look pretty cool.

Heartman’s Star-Shaped Glasses
Unlocked after entering the Bridge of the DHV Magellan on thein-game set birthday.
Goggles
Reach Connection Level 3 with the Aeronautical Engineer (connected via Sub Order 122 from Eastern Environmental Observatory after Main Order 38).
Yotei Mask
Deliver any lost cargo or Sub Order to the Adventurer after Main Order 38.
Red Mask
Cannot be detected by BTs while holding your breath. Blocks direct and reflected sunlight.
