Pokemon Legends: Z-Ahas been confirmed for an October release this year, coming on October 16 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with the latter including improved graphics and consistent 60 FPS during gameplay. With the game taking place in Lumiose City and bringing back the beloved Mega Evolution gimmick,Pokemon Legends: Z-Ais generating a lot of hype, especially considering it will be the only mainline release of the year as Gen 10 takes the backseat until 2026. Between the TeraLeak and various prominent leakers within the community, a lot is already known about the game, though many leaks remain unconfirmed so far.
One of the earliest leaks for the game was that its starters would be the same as Gen 6 games, and while there could have been some credibility attached to it, the leak ended up being wrong when the lineup ofChikorita, Tepig, and Totodile as starterswas revealed.Pokemon Legends: Z-Ais also quite different fromPokemon Legends: Arceus, and its battle mechanics are arguably an evolution over its predecessor’s, thanks to the in-battle dodges. Several big leaks are awaiting confirmation, though, and hopefully, the Pokemon Presents in July sheds some light on what the game has to offer.

A lot about the game surfaced online over the past few months. ThePokemon Legends: Z-Aleaksso far include:
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Leaks Paint a Clear Picture
Having26 new Mega Evolutions inPokemon Legends: Z-Ais great, and some of them will gain new types. Clefable is allegedly Fairy/Flying, Meganium is Grass/Fairy, Feraligatr is Water/Dragon, and Barbaracle is Rock/Fighting, whereas the others stay the same.
The fact that there will be no new Pokemon or forms may be sad for fans, but this detail seems supported by the fact that datamining inPokemon Homehas not yielded any new results over time. A Mega Evolution for Zeraora would have been interesting to see, but while originally included, it was later scrapped - it’s unclear if this was after the TeraLeak.
Pokemon Legends: Z-Anot including Rayquaza, Latios, and Latiascan make sense, as these were important parts of the Mega Evolution lore in Hoenn. More surprising would be the return of Alpha Pokemon as well as the ability to battle rogue Mega Pokemon, which, if true, could make for some impressive boss battles in the game. Story leaks are pretty vague right now, and they don’t come from some of the most trustworthy sources out there, so players will have to wait and see. All leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, though, and the July showcase may finally confirm some or do the opposite.
