Alcatraz is one of the most beloved maps fromTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, and inTHPS 3+4, Alcatraz has been converted from having missions and NPCs to the more traditional timed, arcade structure ofTHPS 1-3. Many of the standard and pro goalsreference missions from the original game, but unless you increase the timer with game mods, you have way less time to complete them.
This guide explains how to complete every normal goal in the Alcatraz level, how to complete every Pro Goal in Alcatraz (which unlocks when all standard goals across bothTHPS 3and4Skate Tours are complete), and how to get every collectible inthe Alcatraz level inTHPS 3+4.
All Alcatraz Goals
High Score, Pro Score, Sick Score, High Combo
The best location toget the Alcatraz score goals(and the High Combo goal) is right at the start of the level.
After turning around backward, follow the line backwards – manual into the half pipe area, build up your score here, then manual out and grind the lip of the building as you go back to the spawn point. Then, simply repeat this line until you beat the score!
Collect S-K-A-T-E

The S-K-A-T-E letters in the Alcatraz level begin on the top level. Take the shortcuts immediately to the left of the level spawn, then immediately ahead of the South Side spawn point, to reach the top of Alcatraz. Then, turn left down the stairs, and grind the rail to collect the S letter. K is located immediately ahead, A is right after the end of this rail, T is on top of a wall to the left of the full pipe in the area that the rail leads you to, then E can be found on a half pipe in this same area.
Nosegrind the Foghorn Rail
The Foghorn can be found in the far right corner of the parade grounds area, the grassy, ramp and rail-filled area below the prison. To nosegrind, hold up on the analog stick and press your grind input as you land on the rail ( ↑ + Y/△). The foghorn will blare if you are successful.
Photobomb 3 Groups of Tourists
Tocomplete thisTHPS 3+4challenge, you must run into three groups of tourists throughout the Alcatraz level. One can be found in the parade grounds, another can be found on the ship floating next to the spawn point, and the last group of tourists can be found just behind the pillar in front of the cellblock entrance.
Spine Transfer into the Water Tower
To spine transfer into the water tower, you must make your way to the hidden pools above the final switchback path. You can either grind a short stairway and jump to the right to get here, or grind a pipe that leads under the water tower from the area with the full pipe. the one that leads to a trampoline in the water.
You must grind around the edge of the empty pool and hit a valve, which will empty the adjacent pool full of water. Then, starting from the pool furthest from the water tower, perform a spine transfer into the newly-emptied pool, then spine transfer into the water tower.
Release the Prisoner
Torelease the prisoner in Alcatraz, you must find five trash cans throughout the level and knock them over to find the cellblock keys. You will get the key from the last bin you knock over. The cell can be found on the top of the level, opposite the lighthouse. The cutscene will automatically play if you have the key when you approach, and you will unlock a new area to explore.
Get the Secret Tape
To get the secret tape in Alcatraz,THPS 3+4players must first complete the Release The Prisoner goal. Then, go into the interior of the prison, and grind your way up the spiral stairs on either side to get to the top level. Then, facing away from the door you entered through, jump through the left doorway on the opposite side of the facility. Grind the pipe that leads from this broken doorway and you will pick up the Secret Tape!
All Alcatraz Pro Goals
Platinum Score: 500,000
Because there is such a good rail at the start of the level, getting the Platinum Score in the Alcatraz level is not as hard as in someTHPS 3+4levels. Follow the line described above, which is essentially a straight line that doubles back on itself ad infinitum.
You shouldn’t have much of a problem getting 500,000 points if you may effectively string together combos with the variety of environmental scenery on this route.
Collect C-O-M-B-O
To complete this Pro Goal, you must essentially collect all of the C-O-M-B-O letters in a single combo. These are in a different place than the S-K-A-T-E letters on this level. Luckily, they’re right ahead of the spawn point. Simply jump onto the ledge, grind the rail, and continue to string together tricks to combo through all of these letters that are located close to each other.
If you slow down during this final step, grind the stairs nearby to gain some speed and make it high enough to grab the E.
Sal Flip over the Bulldozer
By default, the Sal Flip can be performed by pushing up twice on your analog stick, then pressing the Flip Trick input (↑↑ + X/□). If you do not have this trick equipped, go into your trick customization menu, then select “Grab Tricks” and slot the Sal Flip.
Go to the Parade Grounds area, just below the prison itself, and look for the giant bulldozer in the middle. Ride towards the front blade of the bulldozer, then hold down up on your analog stick or press the Spine Transfer input to leap over it. Perform the Sal Flip in the air, and successfully land, to complete this goal.
Double Heelflip the Massive Crumbling Stairset
The “Massive Crumbling Stairset” refers to the stairs on the far side of the level between the full pipe jump and the Parade Grounds. The stairs begin just next to the lighthouse and cellblock entrance at the top of the island.
Build up some speed, then perform a Boneless (↑↑ + A/X) at the very top of the stairs. While in the air, perform a Double Heelflip (→→ +X/□). If youdo not have this trick equipped, be sure to slot it when you exit the map.
As long as you land on the ground below the stairs, and not the stairs themselves (or fall in the ocean), you will complete this goal.
Listen to Ranger Ron’s Story
Ranger Ron leads the Alcatraz island tour on his golf cart that goes up and down the main road of the level. To listen to his story, you must Skitch the back of the tour cars and listen to the entirety of this extremely lengthy tale. If you fall off, Ranger Ron will pick up at approximately the same point he left off. Start this Pro Goal early, as it can take the entire 2-minute timer to complete it.

Alcatraz Iron Galaxy Logo Location
The Iron Galaxy logo in Alcatraz is located in the middle of the floating platform that the full pipe jump leads to. Either take the shortcut to the rooftop next to the cellblock entrance or skate up the full pipe ramp to get to the top of the building. Take the ramp downward, loop the loop, then quickly reorient yourself and ollie off the ramp and aim for the center of the trampoline.
If you are successful, you will pick up the Iron Galaxy Logo – if not, you will get a certain amount of “points” based on how close to the center you were, and respawn at the top of the building, ready for another attempt.
Alcatraz Hidden Board Location
The hidden board in Alcatraz can be found immediately after the final Alcatraz Stat Point location listed above. After you grind the rail around the building and transfer onto the Skill Point rail, jump across the gap and, if you have enough speed, you will blast through the window of the guard house andpick up a secret Hidden Board.
