Persona5: The Phantom Xhas a much more in-depth combat system than most players will notice. You don’t need a perfect team and strategy to beat all the bosses in the main Palaces to see the full story, though there is a lot more for those looking to maximize afew Phantom Thievesand make a perfect party.
Status Effects can be crucial in turning the tide in a battle or even further your domination, and there are both Elemental and Spiritual status effects to worry about and use. While they are all general status effects, knowing which ones fall under which category can also help you pick the right skills to boost their effectiveness or which to use to heal your party members.
Every Elemental Ailment in P5X
There are four Elemental Ailments based on the four main elements: fire, wind, ice, and electric.
Shock
Electric
Increase the chance of receiving a critical hit by 10% for two turns.
Wind
Decrease defense by 12% for two turns.
While Curseis a status effect, it is not labeled as either an Elemental or Spiritual Ailment. Curse is applied by some curse skills and causes the target tolose 1% of HP for two turns. Blessing is also a status given when using Light skills, and itrestores 1% of HP every two turns.
While Psy and Nuclear skills are elemental attacks, they don’t give a specific ailment; instead, they boost the chance to land technical hits.
Cannot use skills.
Sleep
Unable to act and recovered 5% of HP and SP every turn. Recovers whenever damage is received.
Increases attack, decreases defense, and targets random enemies.
Despair
Unable to act, loses SP every turn, and will be KO’d after a few turns.
Unable to act, and throws awayKonpaku Gems.
Fear
May not act and has a chance of fleeing from battle.
Does not follow commands and will attack allies.
