Destiny 2saw yet another overhaul to its armor system with the launch ofEdge of Fate. This time, every single stat found on armor pieces was reworked, drastically changing how builds are optimized and how strong players can get as they acquire more loot. Weapons were also affected, though not as drastically.

Armor stats now play an even larger part inEdge of Fatecompared topreviousDestiny 2expansions, and if you want to min-max your character, you’ll need to understand how these Armor 3.0 changes work. This guide covers every weapon and armor stat in the game, including the important things you need to know when it comes to buildcrafting.

Destiny 2: What Changed in Armor 3.0?

Previously,Destiny 2had six armor stats (Recovery, Resilience, Mobility, Discipline, Intelligence, and Strength). Each stat could go up to 100, but they only provided benefits if they reached multiples of 10, essentially giving players 10 different levels of power according to how high a certain stat was.

InEdge of Fate, stats nowscale for every point an armor piece offers, and most (if not all) have beencompletely reworked, and all your existing armor pieces (including Exotics) have been converted to fit into this system. The new stats are as follows:

Destiny 2 Precipial Shotgun Edge of Fate

Effect

Health

Increases the health you receive when picking up Orbs of Power as well as your Flinch resistance. Points above 100 increase your Shields against combatants and overall Shield recharge rate.

Melee

Reduces your melee ability’s cooldown and increases melee energy regen from all sources. Points above 100 increase the damage dealt by your melee attacks.

Grenade

Reduces your grenade cooldown and increases grenade energy regeneration from all sources. Points above 100 increase the damage dealt by grenades.

Super

Increases the amount of Super energy you get from all sources. Points over 100 increase your Super damage.

Class

Reduces your class ability regeneration and improves class energy regen gained from all sources. When above 100 points, you gain an Overshield every time you use a class ability.

Weapons

Increases your weapon reload speed, handling, and damage against minor and major combatants. Points above 100 increase your weapon damage against bosses and Guardians, and Ammo Bricks from defeated targets have a chance to give additional ammo.

Armor stats can now reach 200 points, and each point you have above 100 gives you various bonuses based on the stat itself. Players who want tomake grenade-focused builds, for example, should definitely try to get their Grenade stat all the way to 200. Of course, this may come at the cost of having less health/shields or weaker damage with everything else, but the drawbacks tend to be worth it.

All Weapon Stats in Destiny 2

Weapons did not get reworked inEdge of Fate,so you’re able to expect all of their stats to be the same as they were before. For newer players, here’s what each of those stats do:

All of these stats were present even beforeEdge of Fatelaunchedexcept for Ammo Generation. This stat makes ammo drops less random and more deterministic, and it can possibly lead to some builds that make frequent use of Heavy and Special ammo.
