This list contains spoilers up to the end of season 7!
Summary
When in the line of duty, it’s always important for a hero inMy Hero Academiato remain cool, calm, and collected, since letting their emotions take over can quickly lead to disaster. However, even professional heroes are still humans after all, at least most of them anyway, which means there’s inevitably going to be moments where they lose their composure and enter a crazed frenzy, throwing out all kinds of devastating attacks to take down their enemy once and for all.
Needless to say, it can make for an extremely intense and even emotional fight when a character ends up losing their mind and going berserk. While this obviously applies to a few heroes, even some of the villains have gotten a little drunk on power now and again, too. These are theMy Hero Academiaindividuals who, for one reason or another, completely lost their train of thought and turned into an unstoppable powerhouse at specific points in the series.
7Re-Destro Gets Stressed Out
Stress Turns Re-Destro’s Body Into A Giant Behemoth Overflowing With Power
Considering Re-Destro is the leader of his own company and army, it makes sense why he would often come across as someone who’s always in control of the situation. It’s therefore unlucky for him that he was born with theStress Quirk, which will force him to transform into an absurdly strong behemoth any time he starts getting a little worked up.
One character who was able to get underneath Re-Destoro’s skin was Shigaraki, resulting in what many fans consider to be one of the best battles in the series. While Shigaraki also loses his composure many times throughout this fight, Re-Destro barely even feels like he’s in control of his own body, smashing and destroying everything inside in an attempt to justify his position at the top of the Meta Lberation Army.
6Gigantomachia Turns On Its Master
In A Surprise Betrayal, The Gigantic Mutant Strikes Back Against All For One
Gigantomachia enters the story as a giant brute who acts as a loyal lapdog toAll For One and Shigaraki. Because of the size and strength of this mutant, he proved to be a massive thorn in the side for the heroes during the final War, but after a little encouragement from Shinso and his Brainwash Quirk, Gigantomachia finally decided to turn the tables.
Gigantomachia charges towards All For One with every intent of smashing him to the ground. Of course, All For One would be able to bat away his former lackey like an annoying fly thanks to his arsenal of deadly Quirks, but it was still quite a sight to see such a formidable villain going all out with his power.
5All Might Smashes All For One Into The Ground
All Might Uses Up The Last Remnants Of His Power To Defeat His Arch Nemesis
In the first few arcs of the series, fans would only rarelyget to see All Might in action, considering he was secretly reaching the end of his abilities after passing One For All down to Deku. After the villains decide to kidnap Bakugo, though, All Might runs into his arch-rival, All For One. Realizing this will be his last chance to defeat All For One in his current state, All Might unleashes the last remnants of his power in what is one of the most explosive and memorable duels in the series.
It’s clear that All Might starts struggling to control his emotions after All For One mentions Nana, All Might’s former mentor, who is killed by All For One before the story begins. All of this culminates in the final attack that finally defeats One For All, the United States of Smash, which provides a very special glimpse at All Might losing his usual cool and casual demeanor.
4Dabi’s Quirk Goes Into Overdrive
The League Of Villains Member Lets His Blueflames Consume His Body
For much of the story, Dabi is often seen as the quiet and reserved member of theLeague of Villains. Behind the cold and stoic exterior, though, lies a young man who holds a seething hatred for his father, who turns out to be none other than Pro Hero Endeavor. After Dabi exposes his father’s heinous actions to the world, his emotions start to take him over, until eventually he decides to incinerate everything in sight with his Blueflame quirk.
Dabi’s Blueflame is so strong that it deals damage to his own body, and by this point in the story, he was more than happy to sacrifice himself to flatten every hero who dares to stand against him. Needless to say, Dabi lost control and came close to causing a massacre, until he was thankfully stopped by his own family.
3Deku Sees Bakugo’s Corpse
Deku Turns Into An Immensely Powerful Monster After Seeing A Fallen Comrade
Despite being the only hero strong enough to stand up against endgame Shigaraki, Deku is forcibly separated from the evil villain near the beginning of the final war. As a result, it takes him a little while to actually reach Shigaraki, but by the time he does, the first thing you see is alifeless Bakugolying on the floor, seemingly being killed and thrown to the side by the maniacal psychopath just moments before.
In a fit of rage, Deku’s Quirks start to spiral out of control, with his eyes losing color and Blackwhip creeping out of his body. While Deku is no stranger to losing his cool, the fact that he was so incredibly strong at this point in the story made it honestly pretty scary to see the protagonist in such a frenzy.
2Endeavor Pummels Hood
After Almost Being Beaten, Endeavor Stands Up And Proves His Worth As Japan’s Top Hero
After Hawks and Endeavor are interrupted by a high-end Nomu, it soon becomes clear to the band ofPro Heroesthat this is no ordinary villain. In actuality, the Nomu that stands in front of them is Hood, the strongest of the bunch, who is more or less unkillable. While Hawks provides some backup support, it’s Endeavor who does a lot of the heavy lifting in this fight, and despite giving it his all, Hood actually manages to beat him down and seemingly defeat the Pro Hero near the end of their battle.
As someone who has been striving for the number one spot all his life, though, Endeavor wasn’t going to just sit back and accept defeat. After getting back up, Endeavor unleashes his most devastating attack, the Prominence Burn, and even screams out the Plus Ultra catchphrase as he lets the flames fly. It’s not uncommon to see Endeavor getting angry or annoyed throughout the series, but it’s clear he was seething with hatred during this final attack.
1Shigaraki Flattens Jaku City
Shigaraki Decided To Celebrate His Revival By Using Decay On An Entire City
After Shigaraki is rudely interrupted from his slumber by the heroes during their raid on Jaku Hospital, the villain realizes that he’s far stronger than he ever was before thanks to Garaki’s experiments. As a result, Shigaraki goes mad with power, destroying not only the entire hospital, but all of Jaku city and many of the people within it with no more than a single touch.
While Shigaraki had always made it clear he had no remorse for anyone other than his ragtag group of comrades, this moment specifically really emphasized just how merciless he truly is. Shigaraki is someone who is prone to letting his emotions get the better of him, and in this case, he let his anger and frustration run wild, killing countless civilians in the process.
My Hero Academia
Cast
In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
